About This Campsite

Welcome to the Wisconsin State Fair RV Park, a year-round destination offering visitors a convenient base for exploration, particularly for those planning to catch a Brewers game or enjoy downtown Milwaukee. While the park is essentially an RV parking lot, it provides full hook-ups, well-lit and clean facilities, including newly renovated bathrooms, showers, and laundry rooms. It caters to RV travelers with accommodations for pets like a designated dog walk area.
  • Convenience: Perfectly situated for visitors wanting to explore Milwaukee, the RV park ensures a safe and quiet stay.
  • Facilities: Expect pristine restrooms and showers, with spacious and designated areas for dog walking.
  • Staff: Known for being super friendly and ready to assist visitors.
  • Layout: The site is closely packed with minimal room between RVs, making it more of an overnight stop rather than a camping experience.
**Tips and Considerations:** - Be prepared for closely parked RVs, with limited space for privacy or outdoor activities such as grilling. - Electric and water points might be behind fences, so plan for extra hoses and cords. - Be mindful of community rules as enforcement for site violations might not be stringent. - A two-night minimum stay policy is strictly enforced, so plan accordingly. **Overall Thoughts:** While it might not cater to those seeking a traditional camping experience, the Wisconsin State Fair RV Park excels in offering accessible amenities and a strategic location for urban explorations. For those focusing on convenience over comfort and willing to navigate its few challenges, it could be the right choice for a visit to Milwaukee.

Perfect place to stay if going to a Brewers Game and spending time Downtown. There is no doubt that this is a parking lot, spots are close together-not level and RV doors face each other, not a place to be hanging out and grilling. With that said, it is clean, safe, quiet, offers full hook ups, well-lit, convenient to all things Milwaukee. Super nice staff, Bathrooms-Showers-Laundry rooms must have been newly renovated, they are pristine and large. Dog walk area/grass in-between rows, or in back of some sites. Some sites offer shade.

Stayed for Indycar 2024 race. 30 amp spot area had several rv’s where tow trucks were parked in drive lane, and encroaching on my spot such that arrival was difficult to back in. Fortunately other side was a smaller popup camper and across lane spot unoccupied so had on front and far side a tad of maneuvering space else the violator on other turn in side I would have not been able to park. Exit I decided because of the space violator on one side to exit the opposite/wroung direction flow to avoid accident of hitting their full pickup bed sized tow truck with bumper overhanging my spot corner. Those occupants also had a dog on about 25 foot tether and they allowed dog to urinate everywhere including the shared electric post ewww. Dog barked a lot during stay even went under my rv and once was scratching or something to my rv and owner yelled at it. That pickup truck left its bed cap top door open at night and day plus most of day liftgate open when they were on site so it extended over my lot as well. They obviously were not caring for their property as they left rv storage bay door open and its contents in full view the entire stay even overnight. When I checked in the clerk asked my name as if checking me in and someone else already had paperwork printed for my reservation so were ready for campers. If I ever stay here again, would choose a different area as others with more amenities had spaces plus extra marked gap separating from adjacent parking spot whereas 30 amp only no gap. Couldn’t tell this when reserving on line. Only one dump station in location that would require you to drive down a parking lane which was partially blocked by tow trucks parked in labe and no one enforced rules. Could have been fire code violation don’t know if fire truck could drive thru. Office only open normal business hours not late evening so not rv traveler accommodating for evening arrivals this isn’t printed on reservations only check in and out times. Website facilities photos obviously when new as now older and roofline gutter damaged in at least one spot. Did not notice constant frequent security patrol. Saw a police car once.

The pictures on the website do not show the real campground. Although many spots were available, we were sandwiched in with other large campers in a parking lot across from the office. Our electric and water were behind a fence with another parking lot. This is a concrete jungle with no trees or grass, and in spite of the many open spots management insists on squeezing the rigs together in one spot with little regard to the humans inside the campers. I have had more room in a storage facility. I do not recommend this campground.

We were going to travel through but there's a minimum 2 night stay which they do not mention or tell you prior to going through all the hoops to book (website or otherwise). At the end it will tell you and deny your reservation. There are absolutely no exceptions even if there are plenty of sites available even after calling and talking with multiple people. They would rather lose a night's payment and leave a spot empty than make any kind of exception whatsoever. I can understand if the place is fully booked but there were a ton of sites available for the night we needed. Yet again, bureaucracy rules over common sense.

Staying a week for work all that was available was in the 100 block of sites. Water electric only. I had to pass my water and electric lines through a fence then walk around to connect them. My neighbor when I arrived was inebriated and started walking around my fifth wheel looking underneath it when I was trying to back in to park. I had to tell him multiple times to move so I did not run him over. He kept telling me he was trying to find out what was squeaking. I told him not to worry about it and just move away. I do not have ANY idea how he is allowed to park here. The rules say your RV has to be drivable/movable. There is no way his RV can be driven. The whole cab is full of garbage. I have stayed here before on the full hookup sites and had a great time. That is why they got a 3. Had it been just this time I would have given a 1.
