Very nice state park! We only walked a short way to get to the beach from the parking lot. We hung out on the beach, throwing the stick for the dog for a bit before we walked a bit on the trail. The walking trail is awesome as it has wood all along, so you're not walking in the sand the whole way. The sand dunes are awesome. It was a Saturday in September when we went.... almost no one there it seemed like. I would highly recommend.

Great State Park! We enjoyed the marsh boardwalk, a couple of the dune hikes and then, of course, the beach. We also spent a night tent camping and enjoyed our experience with that. We were able to see an owl right at our campsite which was very cool! If you are able, get up early enough to watch the sunrise, it is beautiful!

This beach is beautiful! We are from coastal NC, living in Iowa now, and this is the closest place we've found that resembles the beach we are use to. Beautiful white soft sand and clear water, the beach and boardwalk was really clean and easy to access. Can't wait to come here more every summer!

Nice and quiet now that camp season has quieted down with school starting. Campsite views are awesome and so are the trails. Crazy camp hosts yet again about parking. Two feet off the cement and on the sand had them in my site with in two hours. The vault toilets are so bad the ammonia smell will take your breath away.

LOVED visiting this park and had a great camping experience here. The campsites were very nice with a mix of trees, including pine, which made for a good base for tent camping. The beach was closed for swimming due to E. Coli and Rip currents, but there was a lot to do. The trails were varied, and the views of the water were amazing! Our campsite had a trail right alongside it and was about a 5 minute walk to the beach. It was great for sending the teens off to play. We had several deer sightings. The cranes trumpeting gave it Jurrasic Park vibes. I did, however, expect to see more amenities in the main park area, similar to Devil's Lake. Would have loved a little ice cream shop or something similar.
