A beautiful, serene vibe while camping in the cloud forest. The hike up takes you through varied microbiomes and has plenty to look at. We camped in late June and the fog was thick enough you couldn’t see the water for 2/3 days, but no rain. Nicely stocked bathrooms and a hidden water spigot

Our family love this campground. I’ve been bringing the kids since they were toddlers and now they’re late teens. It’s perfect to meander the 1.5 miles up hill with little kids then kick around the campground for a first backpacking trip. It’s also great as a launching spot for countless hikes, backpacking, and beach days with older kids or just adults.

With all the hiking available in the area this camp is a wonderful place to spend the night. It's also a great place for the campers with less hiking experience as the nearest parking lot is 1.7 miles away. That said it is 1 mile up a gravel road (not overly steep but def up) then it levels out for the remaining .7 miles. Site 3 is quite secluded and can easily fit 3-4 tents nicely depending on size. For larger parties site 5 and 6 and 12 are nice and also very shaded. I would avoid site 1 as the winds tend to Cary the smell from the restrooms. Site 9 fully exposed to sun and wouldn't be comfortable during the summer days.

1 small space for a tent not even cleaned up (we had 2 tents) extremely rocky and overused. Site #3 should be decommissioned. Water was hidden, we came in at dusk and had to hunt all over to find the hidden trail to the spigot. It feels like no one cares about this god forsaken site.

Some girlfriends and I decided to go 'backpacking ' 😁 . This is a great beginner area. The weather report was wrong and it ended up raining quite a bit; something we were not prepared for. Fortunately, we just hiked the 30 min. Walk down the hill to our car, drove to town, ate a delicious dinner, got a room at Point Reyes Inn, and hiked back up the next day to breakdown camp. 😀 yay for backpacking! If it had been clear, I can imagine the views are miraculous. Even all foggy, it felt like an enchanted forest wonderland. Can't wait to go back!!
