This is one of my favorite state parks in Minnesota. We have been here in both the winter and summer and both seasons are great to hike at this park. Our recent visit, we brought our camper and had one of the largest spots (70E) I've ever camped at. Campground was extremely quiet and there are a lot of camper and tent sites. Bathroom wasn't too far away which was great cause their dump/fill area was closed due to a water leak. Thankfully, we didn't really need water that weekend and there was drinking water right next to our site. There are lots of deer here in the fall so watch our when driving! They also have a really nice flat bike path the goes straight from the campground to the visitor center (great views here). I would recommend going to the nevers dam overlook. It's a short walk and really fun and right next to the river.

Beautiful State Park, first time hike-in camping. Loved the campsite, right along the river. Bear boxes on site were a huge help. Saw deer, heard Barr owls at night, a perfect spot for fishing. Well kept visitors center, lovely lookout. Memorable experience.

This is one of our favorite state parks!! We saw sooo many deer when we camped. They like own the place. There are black bear and we got to see one cross the horizon when the sun was setting. Super cool. We were told about a wolf pack too. And Bob cat. Super cool. So many trails and things to do. We had an event about bears at the theater outside. Lovely viewing areas for sunset and night sky watching. The campsites were nice. The shower and bathrooms were pretty well kept. Loved being able to drop in for kayaking. Walk along the river and the visitor center was good!

We were able to take advantage of the free entry state park. This park is simply beautiful. I will have to return when the paths are not underwater!!
