My first review 7 months ago was before I was a seasonal I know better now and I regret ever being a seasonal here. This campgrounds made it where I don't even enjoy camping anymore. Where you should be able to enjoy the smell of a campfire. All I'm doing sitting here smelling marijuana. And to be able to have a fire for one night you have to spend at least $20 because you can only use there wood. That cost $9.00 a small bundle if you are seasonal the electric cost is outrageous 1 month we only stayed 6 days that whole month and was charged 100.00 for electrical you can tell somebody else plugged into our electrical plugs. And there was a new trailer park next to ours now. They charge $0.29 a unit and will not show you a bill. This is the worst place to camp the only good reviews is the ones Matt pays for or give discounts on camping. It is as bad as all the other reviews say they lost over 20 seasonal campers this year alone some were there for 20 years with the old owners

I have been coming to this campground for 30+ years, a couple family members have been seasonals for many of those years, always loved it, the previous owners were wonderful. The new owner is nothing but a money grabber, overcharging for absolutely everything, pushing all the seasonals out by more than doubling the rates to resort style camping prices.. weekend rates are more than double of what they were. You can't bring in your own wood unless it's stamped but he sells his own wood which is not stamped, literally 26 pieces of wood for $85.. Walnut hills is 100% overpriced for what is available...

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were suppose to camp with 3 other campers some cancelled due to the weather when we got there they were able to help us get a different sites were we could be together by the water. Very nice and clean campground. It was nice they had 3 lanes at the dump station so no long lines. I did like that they text us about events going on throughout the campground and when the store was closing incase you needed any firewood before they closed.

We normally as a group go camping up north and decided this year to try some place closer. I can honestly tell you that our group had a fantastic time, place was exceptionally clean and friendly and we had zero issues with anything. The bath house is probably the cleanest and nicest I've ever seen or least that I've ever used. There are a couple small towns close in case you want to go out to grab a bite to eat or you can have a pizza delivered right to your site. If you're a family and not a group like we had it is by far the most kid activity campground I've ever attended .Highly recommend Walnut hills.

I will start by saying this place is %100 nothing like it is in the pictures. I have never wrote a review but I felt we were treated so horribly I had to. The inflatable swim area is not as big as it looks on the website. It’s literally in a small swamp. They charge $30 per person which is insane. We were greeting very rudely by the managers husband for going over the speed limit. We were going 8mph and it’s 5mph. The women in the front office are not welcoming in at all, we walked in and no hi how are you, welcome, nothing. The people running this place are miserable. Camping is supposed to be a happy fun experience for families and the people here make it horrible. I understand there is rules and always try to respect them at any campground we go to. We were talking with another group of campers who said they had a wasp nest right above their site in a tree and he is also allergic to them , he said he let management know and all they said was thanks for letting us know and have done nothing about it. You would think management would read all the bad reviews and make changes but obviously not. We will not be back ever!
