Choosing our site close to the Mississippi river was well worth it. Site 98 was concrete and level. The free laundry was appreciated. The mosquitoes are in numbers. Barges football field in length are a constant amazing sight with a low rumble. Mile long trains sound their horns around 6:30am and block the road for quite a while. Plenty of fuel and food shopping close by. We had a short but great stay. To the far right you can carefully make your way down to the river to fish for very large catfish that break the surface. They didn't want lures and bring a large rod with braid or heavy mono.

Be ready to wash your vehicle’s white dusty roads covers your rig. Bathrooms are like shacks made into a restroom. Shower you better take a quick one the hot water is gone by a 50 count! TRAIN HORNS ALL NIGHT! it’s cool to watch the barges on the river but for this price I’d say go to a nice koa 50 bucks for a night on rocks and the dust is so bad! You cook outside you will eat dirt. It’s everywhere!

This is a great place to camp out late at night. You have to call and Reserve ahead or show up by 5:00. Really nice staff and a really cool location on the river. A great alternative to expensive hotels or crowded parking lots. 33.00 for a place to Camp , shower, use the restroom and do your laundry? Thanks Toms sawyers Rv!! There's also a Love's truck stop not far away.

The location is interesting, on the floodplain along the Mississippi River. The bathouses are clean, but portable, so they can be moved away from an impending flood. It can be hard to communicate with the park. They don't answer their phone before 10AM, and they might not answer after 10. Then they might not return a call for several hours. Considering that lots of their potential clients will be driving at that time, there will be issues of talking on the phone while in traffic, which be be hazardous. Or not talking while out of cell phone range.
