Hardcore tent camping 100% loved it! Next time probably won't bring the wife. LoL 😂 camp sites are awesome, plenty of hiking, for younger folks.

It was a beautiful and well maintained camp ground with one major flaw - it is near a shooting range and on a Saturday night in September we heard constant shooting well into the night, till at least 10pm making it hard for our little ones to fall asleep and really detracting from the beauty of the place. If that doesn't bother you, it was a lovely place with lovely camp sites including many with a short walk away from parking for a more natural setting, well maintained hiking trails, clean bathrooms with composting toilets, and a water spicket with drinkable well water at the entrance to the campground. Also note that the oak trees were beautiful though one of the kids did get hit in the head with an acorn falling from a tree, they were ok but it did hurt quite a bit!

This campground is a hidden gem. We live in Woodstock not far away and come here all the time. Can easily show up without a reservation most of the time and get a walk-in spot. Very quiet, sites are secluded and a lot of them are pretty interesting in how they are laid out which makes for sites with varying degrees of privacy. Bathrooms are always clean and well kept. Roads are in great shape. Hosts are nice. Some small hikes. What's not to love? Only downside is they really need to add power to more sites which I feel could easily be done trenching along the roads and branching into the sites. Maybe one day!

Nice clean campground. Campsites are of decent size. Just wish there was access to running water other than near the entrance.

Lovely grounds, secluded campsites - I couldn't see anyone else's tent or car where I was, or hear anyone else. Camp host delivers firewood to your site.
