About This Campsite
Address: The exact address and city details are currently not provided.
Key Features: - **Variety of Spots**: The park offers spots with full hookups and dry camping options, though it is important to note that dry camping spots may be located far from bathrooms. - **Pricing and Discounts**: Discounts are available for members of Good Sam and Escapees, with reasonable pricing for occupancy including full hookups. - **Facilities**: Onsite amenities include clean restrooms, meeting rooms, and laundry facilities. During special events, a cantina and sometimes additional food options are available, adding a festive atmosphere to the fairground experience. - **Proximity**: Conveniently located near Saguaro National Park and shopping areas, making it an attractive option for visitors looking to explore the local area.
Important Considerations: - **Dust and Terrain**: As with any fairground, expect dirt paths and fields, which can become dusty, especially with windy conditions. Potential visitors should be prepared for this and take steps to mitigate dust exposure in their RVs. - **Reservations and Capacity**: The facility does not take reservations, which can be challenging during busy events that might limit available camping options. It is advisable to call ahead to check capacity, especially if planning your visit around specific fair events. - **Environment**: The camping areas are mostly gravel with occasional grass and tree spots sporadically distributed, offering limited shade. Travelers should be prepared with suitable footwear due to the presence of goat heads, a type of thorny weed, and thick gravel.
Overall Thoughts: The RV Park at the Pima County Fair presents a practical choice for RV enthusiasts, particularly during high-demand seasons in Southern Arizona. While the environment may not be picturesque or convenient for all, it offers essential facilities and a unique setting for those attending events at the fairgrounds. Despite its drawbacks such as potential dust and lack of shade, its strategic location and friendly staff provide a welcoming respite for repeat visitors and newcomers alike.

Good facilities, way too much dirt and dust I stayed here for the FMCA rally. There were over 1100 RVs so most parked outside of the full-hookup area. The facilities, restrooms, restaurants, meeting rooms were nice, clean and well maintained. There are two laundry rooms, each has 3 washers and dryers. Probably because it is a fairground there are dirt roads, dirt path and dirt fields. When the wind blows dirt and dust is everywhere. If you are adjacent to dirt road or field the activity will kick up enough dirt and dust that you and your RV will be dirty, inside and out. AT&T 5 bar 5G was great.

This is a nice place to stay especially if you find it difficult to get a reservation in southern AZ in the winter. They have daily and weekly rates and have Good Sam and Escapees discounts. We paid $30/ night for full hookups with our Escapees discount. The Fairgrounds does not take reservations, although there are events that may limit camping options. Call ahead to be sure they can accomodate you. There's not much atmosphere in the actual camping areas, which is mostly gravel, but there are some really nice areas with grass and trees spread throughtout the grounds. The fairgrounds are pretty extensive and there is a nice exercise trail, with signs identifying the local flora, that goes around part of the perimeter. They have also added a paved trail that parallels the entrance road. There are two laundry facilities with a total of five washers and eight driers. Each machine is $1.50, which is pretty reasonable for laundry. You just need to time your washing around others. There is a cantina, which is only open for special occasions, when they may also have additional food trucks. Don't expect these amenities all the time, but it's fun when a special event brings them in. In addition to having lots of walking space, there are bike trails easily accessible. The office has a map of them available. It's reasonably close to Saguaro National Park on the east side and shopping is close across the interstate. We've stayed here three times and would stay again.

This is a difficult place to review. As far as a campground goes, this place is the worst. Spots are very close together, there's no shade, there's goat heads (a horrible weed that has SUPER sharp burrs that get stuck on your shoes and tracked into your camper), the gravel hurts my feet through my shoes unless I wear heavy sneakers or boots, and it's crazy dusty. But I use this campground every year when my kids are showing their animals at fair. There are many spots with full hookups, but if you're dry camping, there's spots for you too - unfortunately those spots are pretty far from the bathrooms. The showers are pretty clean up by the office, but there's also showers in the barn (generally less busy, locker room style showers). There's free Wi-Fi, but it was pretty spotty. That may be due to the huge load when we're there for the fair. I haven't seen what it's like without all those other people. I have stayed in the main lot between the office and the barn, the eastern lot near the fairgrounds parking lot, and the north lot just north of the barn. The east lot has a few trees, but that's where the goat heads are. The North lot was really convenient to go to the barn, but does not have hookups. The main lot by the office has zero shade and thick gravel, but I'd convenient to the bathrooms. There's more lots out west of the barn that look like they may have shade, but we've never stayed out there. I didn't take any pictures of the campground aside from the one I'm sharing - it's not amazing, but it shows that birds that came to our feeder & also how close the other camper was to ours.

They only had 50 amp service available when we got to the RV campground at Pima County Fair Grounds, they did offer to sell us a 30 amp converter but we choose to dry camp for $30 in a dirt lot that was very dusty. The only saving grace is that on our evening walk around we got to enjoy a couple of beautiful owls.
