This is our first visit at this campground. The one thing that I really hate is that NO ONE follows the speed limit including the staff in golf carts and cars. The roads are very narrow and stone. The risk of hitting someone with a car is very high due to others lack of respect for being in a campground full of kids. The staff is friendly but some of the amenities do not work or were not overly clean. The splash pad does not work and was still shown on their web page as an amenity. The one bath house I enter was very dark and not clean. You could not even see the urinals during the day. That’s how dark it was. The rail swing could use a good lube job. Half way down the first hill it sticks sending the swing way up then breaks loose only to make it half way around the loop. Amazed a kid has not been thrown from that.

This campground boasts a plethora of amenities geared towards kids and adults alike. It is peaceful, quiet, and affordable for all that is offered at the camp ground. Very laid back and quiet. We stayed in the Chips Chateau deluxe cabin, and it was the perfect fit for our family. We were grateful to find a clean room with towels and toiletries. Safe, secure, and best of all--- surprisingly none of the bugs you would expect when camping. I don't even think I saw a mosquito. What set this KOA apart most of all, though, was it's amazing staff. From the booking process, to the multiple changes we had to make to our reservation due to a turbulent 22 hours on the road (accidents, being separated from our second car, all sorts of crazy stuff) -- the staff at this campground were so empathetic and helpful when it came to accommodating us. When I called to move our reservation, I was in tears. Ryn at the front office was so helpful and truly was a light in a very stressful time. Kaitlyn, who I am told is the manager, was also very helpful in our time if need and answered every question we had with a smile. Above all, this experience has convinced me to never stay at a hotel while traveling again. My family made some core memories here, and we hope to visit again when we are in the area. :)

In the last two years this place has really gone down. We rented a golf cart but had to bring it back every night at 9 pm and couldn’t get it back until 9 am. We also had to walk a mile to return it and get it. The splash pad at the pool does not work. The zip line is broken. The showers in the shower house only has cold water. We are in the wooded area and the sewer smells so bad. Has a lot of potential to be a very nice place. Just needs updates.

Overall campsite was nice and clean. Flat gravel pad with concrete patio. Activities were extremely unorganized. most of the playgrounds are in need of repairs. Splash pad was not working. There is only one lonely inflatable in the swimming pond.

I have thought long and hard about this review because there’s so much to say in a limited space, and at the end of the day I want to love this place but it falls short- big time. Booking - could be easier but I think that’s a koa site issue unspecific to this location. Grounds - generally in good condition Playground- overrun by weeds, grass hasn’t been mowed most equipment is worn not functioning properly and or broken completely. Pool. Dirty bottom -line point blank. Chemicals sitting out in the sun and heat for days , closed the pool mid day on Friday of a holiday weekend to clean it , because people complained of how filthy it was, when in fact it was filthy Thursday night. Blowing the patio off would go along way, being rude to the customers about having to do your job isn’t really cool (head of maintenance) Splash pad- “ not up to health dept standards” according to maintenance so it wasn’t turned off this weekend, even though numerous campers said it was in all week. Bathhouses, toilets so clean you could lick em Showers so dirty I’ll have nightmares for awhile (all pictures provided of bathhouse are taken within 3 minutes of cleaning crew leaving) Mold/ mildew dead bugs , hair, spiderwebs in the showers for days on end, that tells me you’re not cleaning the walls. No ventilation in the bathrooms so it’s super uncomfortable and steamy after a shower. Employees- 50/50 some where so nice and some where so absolutely rude I couldn’t understand how on earth they work here. The electric atv and dirt bikes are absolutely ridiculous, they are an accident waiting to happen and a true menace. (the head of maintenance was probably the rudest man I’ve ever spoken to) The roads need repaired badly but speeding is already a terrible issue, so I’m afraid that nicer roads would make it worse. Even the employees zip around like crazy on the golf carts… The pool rules should be enforced open alcohol and floaties on a holiday weekend are really not necessary when the pool is packed. ( at least put your beer in a koozie) Pool gates / latches not functioning properly, fence broken loose in multiple places. The jump pad was great - it was collapsed in on Friday and filled with water from the rain on Wednesday, but after we asked someone if it could be fixed and it was. The zip line is broken. The swimming pond - sooo much goose poop Only 1 inflatable, when several are pictured on the website. Didn’t use it. Site 106 and absolute dream large trees , shade , walking distance to everything, concrete pad in great shape , site could use gravel , most of the 100”s could honestly. Site had more green space then most, which is why we always pick it. In general this koa is slightly cheaper than most. But doesn’t offer a good variety of kids activities, they seem very uninvolved as a facility. I chose koa because there’s an expectation of cleanliness, and amenities this place has potential, but falls really short.
