About This Campsite

Sandy Lake: A Convenient RV Park with Room for Improvement

Sandy Lake offers an easily accessible location close to the heart of the DFW area, making it a potential spot for travelers visiting this region. Despite its central location, recent feedback indicates that there may be challenges that guests face during their stay. With an emphasis on RV parking, the campsite provides essential amenities but may lack in delivering a warm and welcoming atmosphere for its guests.

Important Considerations:

  • Management and Customer Service: Recent reviews highlight concerns about management practices, including issues related to reservation management, perceived favoritism, and communication with guests.
  • Site Conditions: The campground features narrow sites that may feel overcrowded during peak times, and guests have commented on the varying conditions of the sites, recommending improvements in landscaping and space management.
  • Facilities: While some amenities like a dog park are appreciated, other facilities such as restrooms have been criticized for their maintenance. Access to the facilities like laundry rooms may have limitations that could affect visitor experience.
  • Pricing: Feedback suggests that the cost may not align with the perceived value and quality of services provided, with some visitors finding the rates to be high for what is offered.

Overall Thoughts:

Sandy Lake RV Park has the potential to be a great spot for RV travelers due to its strategic location. However, it appears to be undergoing challenges that impact the visitor experience. There is a need for improvements in operational management, site maintenance, and facility enhancements to provide a more comfortable stay for guests. A focus on creating a warm and friendly atmosphere could greatly improve guest satisfaction and retain repeat visitors.

The management used to be good. What happened to Lisa? Occupancy and retention is a problem. The girls in the office will build a file on you to kick you out. They will ask your neighbors about you behind your back and take a subjective opinion about you and write all kinds of objective, permanent derogatory defamation in “your file”. I honestly feel targeted and my neighbors have come to me with concern about mgmt’s behavior. My neighbors have been approached by Veronica for the interim asking questions about me and it makes them feel uncomfortable. This is very petty behavior. Some rules apply to residents, others get away with anything. They will kick people out and move their family and friends in for the referral bonus. Creates a lot of havoc. It’s also a conflict of interest of the waiver signed that management can film or take pictures of people. It’s ridiculous. Beware of the smiles and do-good offerings. It’s all fake. The power has gone to their heads.

We had to come to Dallas for a friends surgery. When I googled Rv parks your came up and it looked very nice on your website. We were so disappointed when we got there. We had to stay in an over flow area that had rocks. The RVs were stacked in there so tight that it was overwhelming! It looks like it was unsafe . If our friend wasn’t having surgery the next day we would have gotten our money back. They never gave any codes to the bathrooms. We were so happy to leave and I learned one thing to always check the reviews. I didn’t do that or I would have done something different. I would never recommend this place just for the fact that our experience was terrible. I see where you responds to all the reviews, but are you doing anything about the complaints. You need someone to mange that place that would change the atmosphere of the park and give people a place that will feel more like home. I hope you take all The money your making off all these people and put back into the park and help peoples experience to be more pleasant. Thank you LC

No check in, no map to reserved and paid for site (had to ask several people where it was), electric only, neighbor had some rube goldberg setup going that used my faucet as well, the site was narrow and covered with long grass and old asphalt. Overall way overpriced for what you get. Do not recommend.

This place is easy to get too and sadly this is the only good thing about it. Check in was terrible. They couldn't find my reservation lucky for me I had my paperwork. Then they said I had a backing but I paid for a pull thru and I made them change it. They said their website was wrong. The site are really narrow and close together. There was no table at the site. The dog park was nice. The restrooms were terrible and not maintained at all.

We have frequented this site for over 6 years and have seen alot of changes. THe electric doesn't go out like it did in 2020-21. No monthly breakfast anymore. THe front office has a lot of turn over and there is a sense of favoritism. Restrooms are clean everyday when the older lady maintains them but some people wreck them after. I tried to use a laundy room but was told new rooms and food bank donations is only for employees and their families. Small sites, priced high, lots of kids, decent DFW location. Lisa Ashby and Scott were very helpful.
