Beach is nice , clean and maintained. Water feels nice and is clear. Great place to bring family for the day or to camp out at .y You'll have a nice day out and some fun memories to share Boat dock near by. Bathrooms not to far from beach. Spots fill up pretty quick so get there early , plus when they hit capacity they close gates and don't allow anymore entry until people leave.

Sandy Beach is a pretty and small beach. It is very clean and well maintained. Plenty of parking. Nice views. My only complaint... no real privacy to the bathrooms! NO DOOR for in and out!!! Just 2 stalls with small doors! A weird couple kept hanging out at the bathroom door! Not to use it, but just hanging out when anyone went in or out. I left the area because of that. I went back and so did they.

Great spot to hang out for the day to bbq with friends and family. Lots of room to pop up a tent and relax along the beach or on the grass. Get here early as the good spots tend to get taken early. Arriving close to noon will often result in having to park outside of the main lot, but it’s still worth it. Bring beach shoes!

The mice ruined our trip and the rangers seem to be very carefree about it as if this isn't a huge problem. The mice are everywhere under everything we had to go through every bag even the chair bags tent bags everything we had to check the car under the tarps. They were everywhere. Totally ruined our trip. We will not be going back

This place could be amazing. But it’s really not. Park ranger (middle aged white male) was an air head and thought it was a good idea to have the sprinklers on at 3:30pm when we arrived. Had to wait over 3 hours for our site to dry to even put up our tent. Other people around us had the same complaint and gave us a number to the county to back up their complaints, which we will. Please know, this place is INFESTED with mice. Like bad. We watched them run in and out of RVs through the windows/vents and doors all day and night. They were running across the top of our tent all night and got into everything that wasn’t even food. There is about 6 good sites with decent shade, the rest of the sites have patches of dead grass and dirt everywhere that the rangers put to try and cover the mouse holes. This place has nothing but dead trees or trees that provide no shade at all so don’t expect a beautiful nature experience. There is one bathroom stall and one shower stall for half of the campground to share and they do not keep up with them through out the day and night. The day use area was ok. But camping, never again.
