We had a fantastic 2-day camping trip at Sampson State Park Campground, located at the Finger Lake area. We set up our camper in a secluded spot and enjoyed the peace and quiet. The nearby hiking trails were well-maintained, and we spent a lot of time exploring the lakeside. In the evenings, we gathered around the campfire, roasted marshmallows, and shared stories. We also visited the nearby military museum and had a delicious pizza at the resort's restaurant while watching an outdoor movie. Overall, it was a memorable experience

This place has military memorabilia. Laid out in a very easy to follow u shaped format period this was originally a prison turned into barracks, cafeteria and training ground during the war period my great grandma mummy stinson was a cook here during the depression... The hours are pretty limited for being able to go through the museum. They're generally open Thursday through Sunday only during the summer. And it's only about 2-3$. you can also go down to the water and there are with brand new cabins on the property highly recommended!

This isn't a state park known for its exception natural beauty, but rather it's history as a former military base. There is a free military museum on site that's very interesting, along with many places to bike ride, as many of the old military base roads remain. The campsites are reasonably sized, and the grounds are maintained well. The biggest benefit of this state park is its location on the water. While the swimming beach itself isn't exactly breathtaking, it's a nice spot to cool off on a hot day. If you have a boat, there is a marina that's attached to the state park, but privately run, with a boat launch and a very well stocked store.

Super nice location on Seneca Lake. The cabins were really nice and are available in 1 or 2 bedrooms. Cabins are fully loaded with full size fridge, range, microwave and 3/4 bath. I was visiting some friends who were staying here for a week and I would definitely consider renting one for myself.

Excellent state park, clean wide open spots. Only electric on camping spots. Cabins also. Swimming in the lake. Biking. WWII and Korea military museum free open Wednesday-Sunday must see. 15miles from Cayuga/Seneca canal trail (biking/walking) that connects to Geneva State Park where they have splash pad.
