I was looking for a place to eat my lunch. I stopped by here and picked up some information on hiking trails, camping areas and day use areas. The rangers were nice and very helpful. They have a picnic table next to the parking lot. I enjoyed my lunch and watched the birds. It would have been better if I would have had more time to spend in the forest.

Double lake camp ground was great with a short walk around the lake or long hike but you will have to backtrack as it is not a loop but 126 miles of trail across.

Quick less than 1mile hike, or set out for longer hikes. No restrooms, so bring toilet paper and find a bush and dig a hole. Many options for bikes, hiking on foot, and camp anywhere off the trail. Parking lot has plenty of room.

Been here camping for the last 5 days, will be here for 2 weeks. Fantastic forest, the guys at the main office were more than helpful! I even spoke with an actual ranger at the camp site, he asked me if I was hunting? I didn't know you could hunt in a National Forest but you can! Had me wondering if I would get shot walking & hiking the trails because only the hunters are required to wear high visibility orange vests! But I'm unharmed after 5 days of hiking!
