Family owned, we have had our students fall retreat 4 years in a row. Of all the places we have gone, this is the nicest. Food over the top delicious, facilities well kept, sleeping cabin clean and well cleaned. Bunks were made and assembled by the owner.Each cabin section has their own showers and bathrooms. I would recommend this place for youth groups, retreats , and family reunions.

Just finished hosting a retreat here. My church has hosted four different events here over the last 5 years, and I can't say enough about the staff & the beauty of the campgrounds. The food was excellent, highly recommend. (Ask about the pulled pork barbecue and baked beans.) Breakfast was also very good. The facilities were great. My sons stayed in one of the smaller cabins, and really enjoyed that. My family stayed in one last summer, and it was great. The large dorms were good for our large group. Thanks, Ken & Elizabeth for helping create a great retreat experience for our church!

It is a nice campground. With the amount they charge I would expect more though. The lake is nice if you don’t mind leeches. For what they charge they could afford to put a pool in. The food was fine but not over the top amazing seeing as how a good majority comes from cans. I suppose if you like canned food then you won’t have a problem. And cleanliness is fine as well but at the end of a week of camping with a youth group here they went to clean up the camp and I saw lots of dust everywhere that really should not be there after a week. If the camp site is expecting people to clean up when their done that well then maybe the camp site should either clean it that well before their first big group for the year or hire cleaners to do this. I am definitely not overly impressed with this camp ground. If they were to make their camp ground nicer by adding amenities, cleaning better and the food(for their price it should be fresh and it would be cheaper) then I would have different feelings about it.

Great camp - just went for weekend retreat. The buildings were all new and the grounds well kept up. The area’s really neat looking too, with Red Rock Canyon-esk cliffs all over the surrounding area. Staff were so nice and friendly too.

The Salyer Lake Campground is ideal for any and all camping activities. There are air conditioned cabins and dorms, but plenty of areas for a more traditional approach to camping. The lake itself is clean with some fish and a few harmless water snakes, and the wooded areas around the camp are perfect for nature walks and nature hikes. Just be careful around the cliffs!
