MC TOMOUNT Canvas Tent Bell Tent 16.4ft*High9.2ft with Stove Jack for Glamping Family Camping Zipped Removable Floor
MC TOMOUNT Canvas Tent Bell Tent 16.4ft*High9.2ft with Stove Jack for Glamping Family Camping Zipped Removable Floor

【Spacious Large capacity】 The diameter of the bell tent is 16.4feet and the top height is about 9.18feet. The side walls (supported by 8 poles) are 55inch high, which is much higher than the walls of the ordinary bell tent (22.8inch). So there will be more space available for this tent. It is suitable for people who want to place a lot of equipment, such as tent stove, chairs, tables and beds. It is ideal for music festivals, backyard parties, family camping, weekend breaks and festivals.. * 【Material】Tent roof is made of TC cotton canvas (65% polyester 35% cotton), which is very breathable and can reduce condensation. The fabric itself has good water-resistant performance and can withstand light to medium rain, but for better smelling and breathability, it doesn’t have PU coating, so it cannot be called waterproof, please don’t stay in the rain overnight. The tent walls are made of 210D Oxford cloth, detachable tent floor 600D oxford cloth, PU3000mm keeps you dry and comfortable.. 【How to Set up】】The eight corners of the tent can be set up by adjustable straps, pegs and side poles. It has eight doors and all have mesh windows, so it is very easy to get in and out. All seams are double stitched and all four corners are reinforced. The small straps above the windows are used to roll up the entire sidewalls (after unzipping the zipper at the bottom of the tent) so that you can turn the tent into a canopy look (as shown in the picture of the 2 ways to build).

The Ron Coleman Trailhead is a renowned destination for adventure enthusiasts seeking an exhilarating hiking experience. This trail offers a challenging yet rewarding trek for those physically prepared to tackle its unique features. With no specific address available, it is a hidden gem for avid hikers looking for a demanding outdoor adventure.

Trail Highlights

Known for its demanding climb, this trail is an adult playground for those in great shape, ready to embrace its challenges. Hikers should anticipate using their hands for rock climbing in some segments and paying close attention to trail markers, represented by blue dots, to avoid veering off course. There are several points featuring iron chains bolted to the rocks, each offering its own set of challenges. Bringing a Via Ferrata climbing kit is advised for safety.

Trail Experience

Covering approximately 3 to 4 miles, the trail features significant elevation gains and rocky paths scattered with cacti. It offers breathtaking views from various peaks, overlooking East and West El Paso and Santa Teresa, NM. The views along the trail are stunning, especially when reaching the section known as "The Window" or the top of South Franklin Peak, though be aware of some restricted areas near communication towers.

Tips for Hikers

  • Wear proper hiking shoes and bring climbing equipment for added safety.
  • Carry plenty of water and energy-boosting snacks to maintain stamina.
  • Prepare for exposure to elements, as shaded rest areas like caves are limited.
  • Consider the trail’s difficulty level; it’s not recommended for beginners or those with a fear of heights.

Overall Thoughts

The Ron Coleman Trailhead is a spectacularly challenging hike that requires preparation and respect for the trail’s potentially dangerous sections. It rewards hikers with unforgettable panoramic views and a sense of accomplishment. It's ideal for seasoned hikers looking for a demanding but thrilling outdoor adventure.

I would describe this trail as an adult playground for people who are in really good shape, and looking for a challenge. The first part of the trail involves a steady climb where you have to use your hands to rock climb part of the way. There are two caves that give you some shade. When you hit the firstcrest, you’ve only just begun. From there, the trail is less steep, but still difficult and you are totally exposed. The blue dots are your friend, and you should look for them constantly, as it is easy to get off of the trail. Before you get to the first peak, you will meet your first iron chain that is bolted to the rock. The first one is not too bad, but you should still be very careful. Not too far after that you meet your second iron chain. The fall from that chain is certain death, so I decided not to move forward on it. If I did this trail again, I would bring my Via Ferrata rock, climbing kit. I ended up hiking 3 miles and it was extremely difficult. For context, I am an avid hiker and have climbed Half Dome and many other long and difficult hikes.

Nice trail, it starts heavy, and in the middle there are 3 spots with chains, but all of them are doable. I did not made a full trail, as my goal was South Franklin peak, which is the highest spot on that trail. Only problem is that peak is not fully accessible, as there are some gated communication towers.

Hiked 3.7 miles and 2400 ft elevation going from the McKelligon trailhead to the trans mountain highway in 2:30 minutes. Not an easy hike. Very rocky and lots of cacti. You have to do some rock climbing/scrambling at points and climb up chains. The views were amazing though, and there are options for some more extreme rock scrambling where you are on the crest of the mountain with massive drop offs left and right with you on a 3 foot wide path. Do not attempt if you are scared of heights

Amazing view of both East and West El Paso/Santa Teresa, NM. From the top of the running trail/parking area to the top where the towers are and back down is a smidge over four miles. You'll have to climb four sets of vertical walls with chains that are bolted into the rock. You'll pass the "window," which was neat, then eventually you'll make it to the top where you overlook trans mountain and Mammoth Rock.
