Welcome to River Forest Haven

Key Features

  • Tranquility: The expansive layout of the campsite ensures privacy, allowing you to unwind without the disturbance of nearby campers.
  • Proximity to Town: Conveniently located near Austin, you have the best of both worlds—nature's serenity and access to essential supplies.
  • Natural Beauty: With areas full of trees providing shade, it's a great place to stay cool even in the Texan heat.
  • On-site Services: Hosts are known for their hospitality, delivering firewood and other necessities directly to your site. However, confirm essential services like the availability of ice in advance.

Important Considerations

  • Sanitation Facilities: The campground features portable restrooms and showers. While portable restrooms are a common feature, some campers have noted that the showers could be improved for privacy and cleanliness.

While a few amenities might need some cleaning or better marking, the peaceful environment, helpful staff, and proximity to Austin make it a worthwhile experience. Whether you're camping solo or planning a group trip, it's a place to consider for your next outdoor adventure.

Really gorgeous spot! Loved our campsite and it was close enough to town to get whatever we needed. Camp host delivered our firewood to us when asked! The roads are a bit rough and no lights (which we liked a lot but could help to have a solar light at each site just for help finding after hours! So make sure to bring!) Bathroom is also just a portable potty! most of the showers were hot and they are so cute- but sometimes water didn’t warm up. Would love to tube or kayak here in the future but we really enjoyed just camping and hanging out in Austin during the day this time!

I love camping and this has to be one of my favorite parks. The sites are far apart from one another so you can sit back and enjoy nature without someone’s loud music. The park is beautiful and peaceful. Our site had a private dock to enjoy the sunset. The site had a lot of trees, it definitely helped to keep cool in this Texas hot weather. If we needed anything it was brought to our camp site. I will definitely make this my new go too camping site.

This is my favorite place to camp in Texas, and it’s only 20 minutes from my house. I LOVE the new private docks on the river side sites. The water flows year round. The sites are very spacious and shady. The staff is so very chill. Most of the year, it’s pretty empty too. This is my happy place, where I go to recharge in nature. It’s my dog’s happy place too (:

Rented site 2 for a church youth camping trip. The staff were attentive and helpful, the restrooms and showers were clean, the canoes/life jackets were in great condition, the camp site was spacious and clean. We were able to disconnect and refresh. Great over all experience!

I didn’t realize the porter potty in the map was an actual porter potty, which I’m fine with, but the showers are completely unacceptable. There is no privacy and they were not clean. Someone left their clothes in one of them. A guy pulled his pants down and was using the hose next to the shower to clean himself. I’m assuming he was screaming bc it was cold water. I couldn’t find my camp site bc many of them are not numbered. So I stayed in 2 instead of 4 where I should have had a private boat dock that I paid for. Apparently you can request anything and they bring it to you however I asked for ice and the ice machine was broken. I had leave and drive 15 miles away to get ice. I will say the sites are private and not on top of each other. That was the one thing I really liked about it.
