Up the mountain from the falls. The road is manageable but definitely suggest higher clearance and 4x4. The lower camping spots are closed for the next few months for construction. Go higher! The view is amazing although the road is harder to navigate. There has been road traffic often, OHV's, jeeps etc. Sites are not private as the are next to/on the road.

The view is amazing!!!!! I wouldn't want to pull anything bigger than our pop out camper up. We made it pretty far up the pass. The wind was blowing when we got there but not too terribly and eventually died down. However, once the storm front started moving in the wind picked up pretty high where we were parked at on the top. Looooots of OHV traffic during the day. Silent at night.

It's beautiful but whatever MORON decided to put in the new parking lots ruined the place as a local spot. It's already being trashed by all the jerks who dont carry out their trash, and who thought it would be funny to graffiti the rocks. Not to mention how much desert they bowled over to pave paradise and put up a parking lot.

Nice drive up with excellent views of Tucson and the pass. It's interesting how the desert can change the higher up you go. The road is partially paved leading to a dirt road which is in fair I y good shape. We drove a Hyundai SUV without any problems. I wouldn't try it without a decent 4x4 during the rainy season.

Love this place! There are primitive roads so make sure you have AWD and can drive comfortably on tight steep roads. The views are definitely worth it, and plenty of cutoffs to pull over and admire the vista views, hike and camp. There were lots of 4 wheelers and ATVs.
