Trails galore!! The Information center has a cool little museum and lots of things to learn about the local area! This is a great place for a day hike or to spend a few days on the campgrounds. My favorite part has to be the canoe-in campground. Also the park is designed to be hiked. I love that! I say this because you can't get to the actual Raven rock unless you get on the trails. If you want a decently short walk choose Fish Trap. (One thing I didn't like is that Fish Trap runs from the loop trail and would be kind of confusing for a new hiker, given this is the easiest way I think it should be highlighted a bit more) All in all worth the hike and such beautiful scenery. *Tons of nice minerals and crystals as well for any rock hounds out there*

The trails are relatively good. The maintenance had slipped a little bit. It looks like there was quite a bit of wash out. Most of the trails are as described. If you actually want to see Raven Rock proper then there is a significant number of stairs right at the end that are an out and back. As somebody that would describe themselves as a veteran hiker these were no problem however we had brought our older folks with us and they were not able to complete this step of the journey. I would recommend. Even great for a summer hike as the woods around the trails provide a great cool respite.

Awesome park. The campsites are very big many have full hookup. Lots of space between you and your neighbors. The sites are flat and relatively level. It’s all in a loop with plenty of garbage and recycling bins available. There Is a washroom and showers available. Close by to hiking trails and cycling trails. You can take the path to the visitor center (which was closed every time i went there because of short staff. Which was too bad it looked quite interesting and would have liked a sovereign from the park). There are several trails to take and they are well identified.

Gorgeous park! I rode the mountain bike trails and with the mountain laurels in bloom they're some of the most beautiful trails in the area. The hiking trails to Raven Rock itself are also wonderful and easily accessible for those looking for easy/moderate hiking. Signage is great and the visitor's center is very lovely.

Great park about an hour away from Durham NC. The Visitor's Center is fairly new, and restrooms are accessible even when the center is closed. Picnic tables are available. We took the Raven Rock loop Trail. Maps are available at The visitor center. Leashed dogs are welcome. Port-a-potties were also available near the trail head. Free parking.
