Beautiful place. Bathrooms were horrible though but other than that, will definitely be using this area to kayak.

I enjoyed visiting this Preserve. The trails were well maintained and very clean. It was nice to not see a bunch of trash like some of the other Parks and Preserves I've visited lately. I was here exploring for 3 hours and didn't run into anyone else. It's a Very Peaceful Place and I will definitely be back for another visit!

Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve State Park is part of the 7 Creeks Recreation Area which covers over 5600 acres of conservation lands. It borders Timucuan Preserve on its north side and Betz Tiger Point Preserve on its west side. It is one of the few areas of coastal uplands remaining in Duval County. It is home to many aquatic plants and animals. It also provides an important refuge for birds. Both alligators and woodstorks abound, as well as other birds for birdwatching . The park has nearly 20 miles of trails for hikers, cyclists and horseback riding, and provides a shoreline canoe/kayak launch from which to explore the marshes.. Fishing is also an option. Pack your sunscreen, bring insect repellent and clothing appropriate for warding off ticks. There are restrooms, benches, picnic areas, and parking. Open 8 AM to sunset. Leashed dogs are welcome.

This large land holding is great for long walks, biking and horseback riding. In fact, it is specifically developed with equestrian enthusiasts in mind with ample parking for trailers and accompanying signage and trail markers. In addition to two tidal marsh / creek lookouts there is a substantial pine forest trail system that interconnects with other adjacent preserves making for an impressive network of trails. If clean air, quiet peacefulness and bird watching are what you're after this is the place! I don't recommend visiting this area during warmer months when yellow flies, ticks and mosquitoes can be oppressive.
