We travel from Vancouver Island and this place is in a great location to find a place and set up camp before dark in the summer time after getting off the ferry and travelling what isn’t very far at all . Plus not having gates to lock you out is a big plus as well ! We show up late coming home too in the middle of the night , quickly find a spot and go drop the cash in the box and gone in the morning! Love it and will be a spot we hit both ways every time we visit !

Great little getaway from the city life. Beautiful tree canopy. No sewer hookup is a bummer hence 4 stars - dump station is free and so is boat launch - after you register and pay.

Great access, easy to find, good size sites, large picnic areas available. Easy access to water and walking trails. Very dog friendly. Wonderful, clean bathrooms and showers. Well maintained.

I love that it’s surrounded by trees! The beach was absolutely fun! We had site 07 and didn’t enjoy it at all. It was way too close from hwy 101 and was very noisy. Dumpsters are really hard to find! compare to the other parks, this one is not well keep like the other ones. It’s not dirty in any mean but other state parks that I’ve been to are better.

I do not recommend camping here if you want a peaceful experience. The highway was RIGHT next to the sites with no trees or anything blocking it. You have to cross the highway to get to the water and half the people don’t even bother to stop or slow down when you’re walking by, so run fast! Kids will be up til 1AM yelling and playing, and the camp host will do nothing about it. There’s lots of dogs but that also means a lot of dogs barking. The sites are packed in like sardines, the higher numbers (25+) looked okay, but anything in the south loop are all right next to eachother. There is ONE shower. Also the toilet stall doors are so low.. I made eye contact with multiple people who were either standing up and flushing or getting dressed.
