The campsite did not show this on the map while booking, but there is a dumpster right next to it. The picture when clicking on the site conveniently keeps it out of view. People were using it, leaving the doors open, and shining headlights on the site ALL NIGHT LONG. Stay away from campsite number 39. We left a day early, what a huge waste of money - but it was not worth the frustration and lack of sleep. They should remove that campsite spot! Second, none of the rules are enforced, such as quiet hours or alcohol. Not sure what they can do about it, but there was quite a bit of yelling and singing until 1am. The worst of it were the sheer number people driving in and out all hours of the night, there is no light discipline and continuous opening, shutting vehicle doors, beeping cars even through 3am - no care or awareness of others. Might be better off with a day trip, or stay on the other side of the park with the non-electric sites, it looked less crowded.

Nice nature campground. Near of Washington DC. Very calm. We went to the big pool outside of the campground. It was perfect. We try to launched our own kayak and paddle, but the fees are to high. Don’t understand that we have to pay for each kayak. For a family of 5 to bring our own kayak was 50$.

The campground is very beautiful we’ve stayed here a few times! Very family friendly with the water park and the playground. Beautiful in the fall and the spring/summer! I saw a lot of deer, fox and squirrels. It is a very quiet campground which we enjoyed. We stayed here almost two weeks each time we visit. Our spot this time did not have any water/sewer hook up which was okay. The community showers were okay, it was mostly peaceful except for the patrol that drives around all day all night I didn’t feel like we had privacy. It’s a little creepy/harassing type of vibe which is no bueno in my book we are full time traveling RVers so it is something we noticed this time around.

I'm a Fairfax Co resident. I wanted to book a cabin for the night but there is a 3 day minimum. There are 5 cabins available tonight but I can't book one, they will go unreserved because I won't stay for the 3 day minimum. Can they not waive that restriction 24 hours out? They can't on the web and they couldn't in person at the camp store. This is very unfriendly to locals who just want a quick camp experience with kids. It's an unnecessary restriction, change it.

Great campgrounds, well maintained with very friendly, professional and hospitable staff. Comfort stations are brand new and cleaned daily, camp store has all the essentials and friendly staff. Check out the mini golf (get clubs at the store) course and small hiking trials. Only wish there would be small beach area for the kidos to play in the sand.
