About This Campsite
Pelican RV Park in New Orleans
Nestled in the vibrant yet complex landscape of New Orleans, Pelican RV Park serves as a budget-friendly choice for RV travelers seeking proximity to the city’s lively attractions. Located in a central area, the park provides an accessible hub from which guests can explore the cultural and historical riches of New Orleans.
Location
While the RV park is strategically located near many attractions, be mindful of the surrounding area, which some reviewers describe as 'sketchy.' The locality may feel intimidating for some, yet others value it for its easy access to the city center and festivals such as Jazz Fest.
Facilities
The park offers essential amenities, including large spaces accommodating bigger rigs, though the number of restrooms and showers is limited. Noise can be a significant concern here; several visitors noted the pervasive loud music from neighboring areas throughout the day and into the night.
Guest Experience
- Positives: Friendly and helpful staff striving to maintain the property, convenience of being near local food spots like Smiley's Grill and the on-site Landing restaurant.
- Negatives: Reports of insufficient cleanliness and supply in bathroom facilities, safety concerns, frequent noise disturbances.
Overall Thoughts
Pelican RV Park is a mixed bag, offering a great location for exploring New Orleans at a competitive price. However, prospective visitors should be prepared for noise, especially if they're light sleepers, and plan accordingly to navigate a complex neighborhood safely. Approach this park with an open mind, and it may serve you well for brief stays centered on exploring the Big Easy.

Warning! Do not stay here! Very bad part of town. Loud street party going all night next door. Motorcycle burnouts til the am. Trash and metal debris everywhere. Only one shower and bathroom. No hand soap, toilet paper or paper towels. Shower disgusting. When asked mgr said he would replenish but 24 hrs later, nothing. Weed whacker going outside our window at 7am. Booked 3 nights and leaving after 1. Horrible day and night. Uber drivers very hesitant to pick up. We waited at corner for Uber and were threatened by party goers. Tried to address this with Greg/Craig and he hung up on us. There’s a homeless person living behind the bathroom and gets very upset if the bathroom is busy and she needs to use it. We’re surrounded by freeways and storage containers and enclosed by a gate. We do not feel safe at all! This is only some of the bad stuff. I could go on but this reviews long enough. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO STAY HERE EVEN ONE NIGHT!

Greg is great, the park is close to everything we wanted to see in New Orleans and was a convenient central hub. The price is right and we have no complaints. Yeah it was a bit noisy at night but Greg told us long before we decided to stay that it might be and he put us away from it as much as he could. You have to eat at Smiley's Grill just outside the gate. Tasty food, nice staff.

Owner/grounds people very nice and helpful. Spaces are large and easy to park larger rigs in. However, it was VERY noisy! Extremely loud music plays next door non stop from noon till about 11pm. It’s very close to the highway as well.

My husband and I have been going to NOLA for the last 5 years, this year is the first time we've taken our RV. We booked before reading the reviews and I have to say I was apprehensive about staying here after reading some of them. But we came anyway and I have to say I don't know what all y'all complaining about. Yes the neighborhood was sketchy but the park itself was very secure and quiet. You can tell the owner is trying to clean it up. Nobody bothered us and the noise isn't as bad as everyons has said. Overall It was a pleasant stay. For $50.00 a night on jazz fest weekend you can't beat that. We will defiantly come stay here again. Oh and smileys grill is very good.

This was our second stay here and enjoyed the convenient location. The staff was friendly and helpful. Each day the staff was busy working on their property keeping everything clean and functional. We really enjoyed having the Landing restaurant on site providing very good New Orleans dishes. We'll be back...
