It is a little downhill walk. Not advised for older people not good on very uneven terrain. Very small walk paths after the bridge. Nice place for kids to walk in the water near shore. More of a hiking part of Patapsco state park once you par in the rear to the path areas . my 1st visit probably will visit other entrances before coming here again. Past the bridge there is great fishing spots calm water very open water seems like a perfect place to relax and fish here

IT’S NOT HOLLOFIELD. ITS AVALON/ GLEN ARTNEY AREA, off Rt 1 in Elkridge, MD. This state park resonates with me! 💕 I’ve loved it for a long time. Patapsco Valley SP Avalon/Glen Artney is a great book reading, peaceful place. I like it cause you can pick a neat, small outdoor space, park, & go sit & read. Recommend bringing a camping chair. (Picnic tables cut off circulation). Other than the slightly “controlling” mgmt, it’s a beautiful place that feels like home, up on a tiny part of a high ground area, under the railroad tunnel, in Elkridge, MD. Coming down the mountain & turning left, drive along the creek, to another area, with playground, restroom, & picnic tables. A couple of the picnic tables are along the creek, with a small pavilion & sizable parking lot in back.

This state park is huge! It has multiple different entrances for each sector. The main entrance cost $2 to get into for all day access. There’s a playground, multiple hiking trails, a swinging bridge & and beautiful river. Tent Camping is $26 with tax. The camp sites are well made, the fire pits are top notch but the sites are very close together. They have small cabins for $50 plus tax, which is also cool. Our favorite part was the trail and the river. Will absolutely stop here again if I’m passing by. My family and I enjoyed every moment.

BE CAREFUL OF POLICE GIVING SPEEDING TICKETS!!! I got one today coming down main road. It is 20MPH, not 30MPH. Otherwise the park was very nice with lots of nicely rigours trails. The blazes are plentiful, but the trails are confusing and there are no maps on site and no signal down in the valley so make sure you have maps downloaded before you go.
