Great Campground! Super clean, quiet and very peaceful. We had a waterfront site and it was great to be able to fish on our site! Bath houses were very clean and well taken care of. All the staff and owner were very nice and answered any questions we had. Renting a canoe for my wife and I to go fishing was a huge plus! Location is great because it’s close to beach access only 10 minutes away and 30 minutes from all other attractions in and around Virginia Beach. With that being said it’s also far enough away from everything be able to come back and relax! Definitely will be going back!

Second time for me. A nice quiet off the beaten path campground. Its surrounded by canals. Its on the edge of a swamp and a national wildlife refuge. Its nice to just sit outside and listen to the birds and the waterfowl. On the main road in you might even see deer and wild turkeys. Easy to book online. Clean facilities to use from showers to laundry room. The firewood delivery is a great thing to get. They deliver to your site even if your not there so there is no waiting or signing of delivery. Just go to the office, pay for it and it will be delivered when they can.

Lovely place to stay! Awesome location with sites backed up to the canal, and less than a 10 minute drive to public beach access. They have cheap kayak and canoe rentals to explore the canal, a small pool, and reasonably priced firewood. The tent sites are pretty small and don't offer any privacy from your neighbors, but we didn't mind. Bathrooms were clean and in good working order. They also had a free memorial Day event with oysters and BBQ and axe throwing and live music!! That was super fun. Definitely recommend staying here and we'll be back if we're in the area again. Thank you!

Perfect for kayakers! We came here for tent camping and had a wonderful time. The tent sites are kind of close together, but they seem to space people out when booking. The bathhouse was clean with warm water. You can kayak straight to the tent sites. I notice comments about mosquitos and it didn't seem any worse than anywhere else near water during the summer. We brought citronella and spray and fared pretty well. It's not too far from stores and restaurants if you need anything or want to grab a bite to eat. The draw backs weren't too bad of issues for us personally, but I feel like they should be pointed out just for the sake of the review. It seems to be on some sort of military flight path. There's planes and helicopters overhead often. Second draw back for the tent sites in particular, was you're right by the boat launch. We greeted some fishermen going out to the bay fairly early. While they were quiet and respectful, you can only be so quiet getting a boat in the water. Again, the drawbacks were easily overlooked for us. We will definitely be back when looking for camping in the area.

This is a campground. Came after couple days of rain, so very muddy all over. Pads are dirt and gravel and needs more gravel. All amenities are great, FHU are available. After ground has dried, much better.
