Beautiful to visit during the fall 🍂. Not a lot of people at the park, and the wearher was beautiful at 70F. Though, clear weather does warrent a pretty dry waterfall. It is still worth the trek to see the trails and lakes there. It's a great place to meditate and feel just how tiny we really are compared to what mother nature has to offer. Be mindful that there aren't many places to sit (like a bench or table), but that doesn't mean you can't sit on the many rocks the forest and mountains has to offer. Trails were spotless with not a single spec of trash on the ground. Coming from Long Island and the city, this was absolutely wonderful 🥹. I don't own a furry friend, but it's a fantastic place to take your dog here to explore as I saw many people bring them here. Both big and small dogs happily walked along side their parents. Parking was alright, the workers will guide your car to park at specific spots too. With your empire pass, admission is free, otherwise it's $10.

I recently spent a day at Minnewaska State Park, and wow, what an experience! The place is like a hidden treasure trove of natural beauty. From the moment I stepped onto the trails, I was surrounded by stunning scenery that seemed to get better with every turn. The trails are fantastic. I loved how each path had its own unique character and offered incredible views. It felt like I was discovering a new secret every few steps. Wildlife is everywhere! I saw deer, birds, and even some smaller critters. It was like the park was alive and thriving. The encounters were a beautiful reminder of how important it is to preserve these natural spaces. And the landmarks—wow. The lake was very peaceful. Each spot felt like a postcard come to life. I found myself just standing there, soaking it in, don’t Judge me, thanks Minnewaska State Park is an absolute must-visit. Whether you're a nature lover, an avid hiker, or just looking for a serene escape, this park has it all. I can’t recommend it enough—get out there and see it for yourself! You won’t be disappointed.

Beautiful! Not too crowded, pet friendly, go early if you want upper parking lot which is by the Visitor Center! Easy hike around the lake, no fuzz easy access to other trails and with good pathway directions🍂🍁🫶🏼

This one has been on the list for a long time. This didn't disappoint on a beautiful warm day. There were a lot of people near the falls and a fair amount on the trails away from the falls. That's probably the only detractor from this one. Always neat getting to see the Catskills in the distance. This park is good for any length of hike. I had planned to do almost 14 miles, but being the first warm weather hike, the heat beat on us. So we ended shortening it to under 10 miles. You could shorten it even more.
