We had such a great stay! I really am so confused by these other reviews. Me & my girlfriend spent the weekend here as a break from our usual busy lives. The bathrooms were clean, I saw an employee cleaning and mopping the bathrooms then doing propane. The office lady manages the office, cleans the bathrooms and does propane! Greeted us multiple times. We had such an easy check in and check out and everyone was very friendly as well! The entire property was clean and quiet at night, which is important to us. The only critique I would give would be that the park has so much more potential to be a great hangout spot! If we find our way back to Martins Camping Ground we will 10000% stay here again.

Brenda is the office manager and all I can say is other companies should benchmark her for what Excellent Customer service is all about. She went above and beyond to help resolve an issue dealing with the electric at my sight. She worked with me over 2 hours and were able to get the situation resolved. Very convenient to the highway, bathrooms were immaculate. I would stay there again. Thank you Brenda for your kindness.

We called and they had a space for us overnight. Perfect location off the highway. Bathrooms were clean and shower was hot. The office staff was kind and courteous. We checked in after hours. They had an envelope waiting for us that included everything we needed to know for our stay. I would stay here again.

We stayed here for 3 nights while we attended an event nearby. First of all, let’s set some realistic expectations. This is not a KOA or state park campground. There is no pool or playground and you can’t have a campfire. Most of the other campers were people that had traveled for a job and were staying for several months but there were a handful of people just staying for a night or 2 like us as well. That being said, you can’t beat the location if you want to camp and go into downtown Chicago or some of the nearby suburbs. The grounds are well maintained and everyone we encountered was friendly. We felt safe walking the dogs around the campground at night. There was plenty of green space for them to sniff and run around in as well. Brenda, the office manager was super friendly and helpful. She texted in advance of our stay just to confirm and helped put us in a site that worked best for us. We didn’t use the bathrooms except at the very end when we were leaving but they were clean and nicely maintained. The women’s bathroom requires a code to enter which is a nice security feature. You are right next to the highway so there is road noise but we have stayed at several KOAs that are just as loud. Next time we travel to Chicago with the camper we will definitely stay here again!
