  • Whether you're into fishing, hiking, or enjoying the splash park, there's something for everyone, including easy beach access right across the street from the campground.
  • Consider bringing your entire stay’s supplies because moving from site-to-site can be cumbersome due to some reservation conditions; securing full reservations at the start is recommended.
  • Families will appreciate the on-site playground and splash pad, though it's worth noting that the lake near the playground isn't fenced, and some of the attractions cater more to older children.
  • For those planning events, be aware that while the venue provides basic facilities like restrooms and kitchens, it lacks equipped audio/visual settings.
  • The on-site bathhouses are functional and provide hot water, although they might seem a bit dated at first glance.

We rented this venue for a celebration of life. It's right on the beach on Jacksonville with good views, a kitchen with refrigeration and a sink, tables, and restrooms. However, they have no audio/visual equipment or hook ups. There is a podium with a built-in speaker, but no mic, and a screen, but no projector. The person managing it was also rude, unpersonable, and uninformative, like she couldn't be bothered. Oddly, she sat in her car for the entire event right outside the building. If we had known about the few pieces of equipment they had, we could have done more. The venue was clean but not well kept and is in need of a facelift.

This is a great place for a day trip or camping trip. Only 5 dollars a car load and you can fish, walk trails or spend a day at the splash park. Maybe you like the beach, well they have that too and a very nice campground. Definitely worth the money.

Great park love the sites. There was a goat land clearing project in service. Staff & camp host are friendly . Bathhouse is dated but functional with very hot water !! Have visited many times. This time had difficulty getting a reservation . Wanted 6 day and reserved that and checkout online dropped my last 2 days . We came anyway with hopes of finding 2 more day reservations . Ended up changing sites to get our last 2 days . Spoke with many campers that had the same experience of have to site hop to get their full vacation days in. However our original Site was never used after we left it. Online reservation never showed it vacant either. Workers could not speak to why park Was full Online but many sites not occupied. Will not site hop again . Will requests full reservation on one site going forth!!

A really beautiful nature park with a playground and splash pad right next to each other. The park has plenty of shaded seating with a view of the entire park which is great but as a parent the two downsides I found were the unfenced access to the lake a mere 30 feet from the play structure and the very dirty changing table in the bathroom. Playground equipment included three slides, a mushroom spinner to hang off of, a few climbing structures, a zip line (that was chained up but seemed functional so I would love to know if it will be opening up again or if it was deemed unsafe), a cool new-age see-saw but all of these were geared towards older children at least 5. For younger children there were limited options but that included two parent/infant swings, a textile spinner for them to touch and the inside trunk of the playground was hollowed out with little stairs for them to climb. The splash pad was right next to the park (and was fully fenced!) but was closed down for the day for maintenance. It seemed great with lots of sprayers over a large area but didn’t have as much seating surrounding it but I’m sure you could move one of the 50 picnic tables if need be. Right past the splash pad is a really cute peninsula overlooking the river that would be so cute to have a picnic at!

Me and the family absolutely loved this place. I miss it! We tent camped and stayed close to the little gift shop. I bought at least 5 alligator heads from there as Christmas gifts 😆🤣. But yeah the camp ground is literally right across the street from the beach you could walk or ride a bike to the beach. By far the best beach vacation spot for us would recommend
