I went to the “family beach” area. It’s very calm and wasn’t too crowded. There were gazebos with picnic tables on the shoreline. Someone was setting up a birthday party there. This is not my first visit. Last time I had trouble getting my little car out of the sand. So this time I drove my SUV and had no issues. It costs about $5 to enter. Many signs said no pets. Beautiful scenery. I came before a hurricane. It was very calm. Calm before the storm. 🌪️🌀

Come every 1-2 weeks with my son. Drive right on the beach, I’ve yet to have a bad experience. Me personally, I’m not a fan of large crowds and rowdy people so we always get there by 8am and stay for 3-4 hours. By then we’ve had our fun and are ready to start making our way out as the larger crowds start coming in. All in all it’s a great beach the best in North Florida in my opinion.

Seaside camping in north Jacksonville. Best if you can stay during the week. This is also the local beach and gets very crowded on the weekends. Lots to see here. It’s on the port so ships are coming and going. Lots of nesting birds as well. Beautiful white sand beaches. Campground is simple. No shade and many site are along the main road so noisy. Facilities are old and worn out. No camp store. Come here for the beach not the campground experience.
