We stayed here this past weekend and had a wonderful time. The flush toilet bathrooms are decent, the road noise is loud in the day but fairly quiet at night and the location is great. My biggest complaint is how fast EVERYONE drives through including the camphosts, huge trucks going around blind corners quickly. Luckily our kids weren't riding bikes this weekend but be cautious if your kids are riding or running around.

Amazing place to camp. Valerie has been a wonderful and accommodative host. She and her husband made sure our stay was memorable. Facility is also maintained well and pretty close to the town. There’s a bit of road noise, but it’s certainly manageable. Overall, a scintillating experience and we’ll do it again!!!

Little noisy, but knew that going in. Having a travel trailer the noise wasn’t bad. The diesel truck in the next campsite was worse, I could smell it sitting at idle forever. We enjoyed elk and squirrels. Nice campsites. Main entrance host was awesome, sorry, forgot her name.

This campground is just a few miles away from the Wagon Wheel river and is a great place to stay for the night after a day on the river. There are a lot of camping spots and you can come in and find a spot you like and reserve it there without having to book online. The spot we got was quite large and plenty of room to explore near us without intervening on other people’s spot. It is close to the main road and some loops are louder than others. Lots of space to walk and bike ride around your camping spot. This spot and the river are similar to the oak creek in Sedona and a great alternative if you are coming from Phoenix and want a shorter commute.

Arrived early Wednesday for the first come first serve spots, drove around and most were reserved starting friday so we ended up in 55 with no one around us. Tried to pay at the self service machine multiple times but it didn't work, host was very understanding and left a note on machine. There's a variety of sites, some more open some more surrounded by trees, some bigger than others. Yes you can hear the cars at night but didn't bother me. Walking around the campground it all still felt isolated enough:). Loved that they have flush toilets, sad the showers seem like they won't be opened again. Overall loved it.
