We went to HIckory Run for the first time Memorial Day Weekend 2024. We found the staff to be very friendly, along with all the campers. The whole place seemed well maintained, and even with a ton of folks using the large pool it was extremely clean. We subsequently booked 2 more trips this season. The events for our grandson were great, especially creeking and the forgotten friends critter show. He absolutely fell in love with the rope swings. The only downside is this campground is not bike friendly. It is very hilly and has lots of loose gravel on the paths. That being said, you can easily walk anywhere on the property.

This has been our 3rd year camping at this location and could not be happier. Everyone is so nice and helpful. Especially the young girls in the office, ready to assist with a smile. The campsites are ample and clean. Pool is in the sun for that nice tan. Bathroom and showers are always clean. If you’re looking for a great campground I would recommend going here.

My pop-up doesn't have a bathroom, so having to go across the campground to go to the bathroom because the one nearest us was BOARDED UP, was a pain in the butt. Although the unlatchable 2x4 and plywood stalls were a classy touch. Bring some quarters if you need a shower. The pool was clean and the staff friendly. If you have your own facilities it's a decent place to sleep, if only for its location.

My family has been camping here for decades. My grandmother had a permanent site and we would visit the last 2 weeks of August every year. I have always dreamed of having a permanent site of my own. With the help of Charlie and his wonderful staff; my dream is a reality. I can not put into words watching my grandchildren play in the same creek and the same playground that I did as a child. My heart smiles watching my son fish in the same pond as I did as a child. Memories at Hickory Run are fond to me, but reliving those memories through generations are absolutely incredible. Please keep in mind that Hickory Run is not a resort off the nations capital beltway. Hickory Run is a true campground nestled in the heart of Amish country. My wife and I love watching the Amish work their fields, we love visiting markets and bakeries in Bird-in-Hand. We also visit the not so Amish Kitchen Kettle in Intercourse. From time to time we will step into the mainstream society and take the grandchildren to Dutch Wonderland. Mainly, we love to stay local for the warm down to earth family feel of Hickory Run Family Campground.

The park itself is beautiful. I was really looking forward to this trip. My husband and i were looking forward to a relaxing time with nature. Sorry to say it was anything but that. We stayed in the pet area because we always bring our pups. The people next to us had 2 dogs one of which was very aggressive barking at everyone. They kept it tethered on a line the whole time. Tons of tents around us. Did not expect this since we were in an RV. Extremely noisy with screaming kids the whole time. The camp host was working and banging on his truck for the first two hours of us arriving. Again the park is beautiful but it was anything but quiet and peaceful. I personally feel tent campers should have their own section away from RVers.
