It's not exactly clear (to me) where Herbert Taylor Park ends and the Daniel Johnson Nature Preserve begins. Regardless, the true gem in this network of trails is a sand bank "beach" along the creek. It's a great spot for dogs, kids (with supervision), AND their adults!

It's never crowded, has great water features, and feels largely untouched. Great retreat for creatures of 2 or 4 legs

I first visited this location in the winter and loved it. I returned in the summer and found that a lot of the paths are overgrown and there are bugs everywhere! I agree with the comments below that there are a lot of unleashed dogs, but I love dogs so don't have a big problem with that. I like the creek beach area. Not a bad place to stretch your legs.

A comfortable and wonderful oasis in the middle of the city. There are a couple of places to park, some great trails, one phenomenal beach, with great shade and places for children to play. Some people bring their dogs here, which is great highly recommended!
