Wonderful place to spare the bustle of the city and still enjoy nature and all that DC has to offer. The Jefferson monument is close as well so I recommend doing that if you can. Parking is pretty prevalent all around and you get to be as active or lax as you’d like. Great for picnics, strolls, and watching planes come and go.

It's a great park to picnic in when the weather is excellent, and close to the city. Remember to bring shade and sunblock, as the sun can be intense, and there are few shaded areas if you go there later in the day. I think you should be there early to enjoy the shaded area. Also, bring cleaning supplies, as the picnic tables were not cleaned the last time we visited. The park is great for enjoying outdoor activities such as fishing and bicycling.

Last week the water level rose so it was closed. to 1 Next week everything is very normal and there is no opening to go to hains point. Can anyone help me answer when the gate to Hains Point will reopen? Thank you very much

OMG, I haven't been to Hains point in years and it was great. The upkeep of the park has been awesome. My family and I had an awesome time. We ate, fished, and had great laughs. The weather was perfect. It was so good to be able to introduce my kids to a DC old classic and it not be ruined. Now, I wish they would re-vamp the mini golf place because it needs new greens. All in all...great day at Hains Point!

Place has been pretty awesome so far. And some pretty spectacular views as you can see. Come see all DC has to offer with nature and wildlife included.
