- Basic amenities include hot showers and a central restroom, albeit the cleanliness and upkeep of some facilities vary.

Love that you can book this last minute! It was great for 1 night as a half way point to Philly. Beautiful campground! Especially for only $20 - worth the money. Con — bathrooms are not very clean.. But they did have hot showers!

The place is beautiful. Very clean facilities and campsites. Lots of greenery and active park rangers. You’re close enough to the city but can’t tell…unless it’s at night. The racing traffic echos through the campgrounds so while it’s magical, bring ear plugs. The trails were gorgeous, well maintained and marked. Highly recommend for a day trip or camping.

I'm going to be honest, this campground left a lot to be desired. The campsites themselves did not have a tent pad and the ground was covered in rocks, roots and a random metal post sticking out of the ground. This made setting up a tent difficult. The fire ring was also very tall which made it hard to start or enjoy a fire as we could barely see it over the top. We felt like extras in a dystopian 80's movie sitting around a barrel fire. The bathrooms were in disrepair with an entire stall door missing and others that didn't close properly not to mention being full of spiders.

We were nearby, looking for a place to spend the night and found this campground on Google Maps. The website allowed us to make a reservation late in the night (it's mandatory). We arrived around 11pm, it was easy to find the site, everything was well signed, the restroom is in the middle of the campground, close to all sites and has shower available. A big plus is that the sites are in the middle of the trees, so the sun won't bother you in the morning. The downside is that has ton of spiders everywhere! 😰

Spent a week here in the beginning of May. Your secluded in the deep woods away from the highway traffic and only about 20 minutes from Washington DC. We were in loop D which allows generators from 6 AM to 10 PM due to not having any hook ups. We never had any interaction with the host and the campsite was peaceful and quiet. There are lots of hiking trails available and we did see deer in the park. He filled up with water near the dump station before going to our site. Would recommend this location if you want to visit Washington DC.
