Tent camp- the sites are small, poison ivy on the edges, very close together. Electricity and water at the each site. No mosquitos! We were hoping for a way to stay cool but the lake is no swimming and the pool is closed with no info on when it will reopen. The mini-golf course is concrete so your ball just keeps rolling- worst mini-golf I’ve played. The grounds are well-maintained and the bathroom quite clean (hot though). Disc golf course is very nice. Overall we don’t plan to return.

We came from out of state to celebrate a birthday and on one of those days we went up to the park to all go to the lunch buffet. Due to some renovations at the lodge the buffet was at the conference center, which is probably better because there was plenty of room. I had a number of items, some good and some less than memorable. Be that as it may, our server was very nice. Three of our party just ordered from the menu and the kitchen was able and willing to accommodate a family member with some dietary restrictions. The facility was clean and comfortable and the restrooms were kept up. Parking was plentiful. Going up and down the road was as thin and twisty as I remember. All in all we had a nice family gathering for a couple dozen of us and we will likely do this again if a bunch of us are in town.

Had an amazing 5 day stay here in the campground! The park is now a favorite. Camp Hosts Jimmy and Rita make you feel right at home! Plenty of level sites but its wise to check a visual before booking as some sites are more suitable for tent camping then backing an rv into. This campground is small, scenic, and very well maintained. We'll be coming back here soon.

The overall park was very nice. We stayed in sites92-96 lots of shade at sites 94-95. Nice volleyball pit, playground, and nice road for riding bikes! My disappointment was the yellow jackets !!!!!! Thousands and thousands of bees!! It made it impossible to eat or drink anything!! And most my family were in tents so we had to eat outside! They were so invasive they would darn near fly in your mouth!! I’m talking you couldn’t even sit outside because they would get in your hair and swarm your face.My children were getting stung left and right as well as my nephews, friends,and myself as well! We would definitely love to come back but don’t see it happening unless the yellow jacket situation is taken care of. Second complaint was people were driving way to fast in their cars!! I feel like there should be some signs or a bit more reinforcement for that type of stuff. My other complaint is the playground has zero shade, there were a few shaded areas near by but the actual playground was full sun! And those black swing get hot!! Besides that it is a nice campground and they had some really cool activities for kids!!!

I stayed in a cabin at General Butler State Resort Park in August of 2023. The temperature outside was almost 100, but my cabin was cool and comfortable. I also hike the Butler Lake Trail during my stay and took some beautiful photos!
