We absolutely love this park. Was our first visit, and we are hooked. The access to a lake and a beach on one road is pretty awesome! The bike rentals are completely worth it. The trails were extensive. The site was large and made our experience just fantastic! Will absolutely return to camp again!

Always an amazing place to stay and also Camp Host too! Everything you need to enjoy time with the family or even as a solo traveler. The beach, lakes, forest, trails, biking paths, mushroom picking, and more. There is also a battery and another historical area.

so.. the "hike in camping" sites are located on the other side of the hill from the parking lot at the ranger station and they're also plays directly behind the trash cans and recycling bins.. so there is almost no viewing in the sky through the trees at night because of the light from the parking lot, and there's so much noise from the trash compactor and people recycling glass all day and early in the morning. the sites are small and close together. And then there are the mosquitoes and the squirrels. I understand the parts can't control the mosquitoes or the animals around you but the mosquitoes were thick as thieves, and the squirrels are thieves. Upon arriving at the campsites I watch the squirrel come out of a tent that it chewed a hole into carrying a bag of graham crackers. after chasing the squirrel off several times it came back and took off with the graham cracker bag. Pretty sure the same squirrel was a nuisance the entire time and tried to break into multiple other tents that we had run off with pine cones. big part of the problem is the fact that other campers are leaving food scraps around for the animals to eat.. small piles of fruit skins and other vegetables left from previous campers. so very sad.. besides that and the massive group of children running around and screaming and the dogs barking back and forth across the campground this is a beautiful place.

We rented O19 and fit our Class A into it okay. The water pressure was good and the electric stable. The site is paved and reasonably level with decent spacing. The park although crowded and full of activity was relatively clean. In fact, people drove around offering firewood so you didn’t have to chase it down yourself. I thought that was a great example of entrepreneurship. Signage was good, the grass well kept and the rangers very friendly. I’d give this campground 5 stars but there were two detractors that are tough to dismiss: 1) The mosquitoes. Not the park’s fault that you’ll lose a pint of blood plugging in your coach but putting sites in an a marsh that has year round standing water and not spraying seems silly. The park represents a significant (and admirable) investment that is degraded into being the breeding capital of the world for mosquitoes. Sitting outside at our campsite was a pipe dream. No dear, those are not bald eagles, they’re mosquitoes with shiny heads….. 2) The RV dump uses flip lids. Not earth shattering but anyone who has bought a slinky elbow since 1984 has one with threads to prevent back pressure burp leaks. The connections here are the infamous drop in holes which explains why the dump pad was soaked from people doing post dump rinsing. Go ahead and stand on your elbow to keep it in the hole. The back pressure will squirt a geyser of juice up your leg around the unsealed circumference. This is painfully easy to resolve, just put on threaded dump receivers. Or put a live cam at the dump and sell the videos on YouTube…..

Very big state park campground, very clean and well maintained. Really loved the paved trails around it for biking and hiking. The views of the Pacific Ocean are so beautiful especially the sunset, unforgettable. Had strong cellphone signal with T-Mobile. The only downside is that some sites are too close to each other. We had site #84, the 2 sites on each side have big group with RV and tents, one tent almost touched our RV. The campground has many loops, north loops are easier for big rigs, the outer line sites seems relatively spacious. This is one of the best state parks we have stayed in our more than 15 years traveling experience, the rangers are very friendly and supportive.
