With the hundreds of times I have visited this beautiful park, I cannot believe that I have never done a review! WOW! This is one of my favorite state parks. The lighthouse is beautiful and the fort is fun to explore and learn about. They have guns on display that are neat and I'm glad they came to the fort. This place is full of history and memories for my family. There is a lot of room to run around and explore. They have a lot of places set up now where you can learn about the fort that was once there and what changes it's gone through over time. It's amazing what they've been able to do since I started visiting a few decades ago. I love that it's ever evolving, being restored and taken care of. It is a state park so you do have to pay parking but it's $10 a day or $30 for a year pass. There are a lot of picnic tables in many locations within the park and lots of parking. Bathrooms are located in a couple of different places but the ones in front of the fort are the newest. It's been awhile since I've visited the lighthouse so I'm not sure what the hours are but their website has that info. I don't think that I've ever visited without seeing some form of wildlife, mostly deer and bunnies. But also bald eagles, other birds. We've also seen seals and dolphins from the beach. There is a lot of water traffic as well with all shapes and sizes of boats and ships that come and go. The neighboring conference center and officer quarters are owned and ran by Seattle Pacific University so you'll have to pay attention to signs and what their website says about visiting. You can stay there but they have their own website for all that.

Educational, informative, and a lot of fun! It is a very nice park along the sea, with view of port Townsend and Olympic NP mountains. And the old fort there is worth a visit!

We had a great time exploring the bunkers and climbing around. Bring a flashlight and good shoes! What a perfect place for kids to play hide and seek and explore too. We even got there at the perfect time and got to go up in the lighthouse as well. Great time here! You do need a Discover Pass.

This is one of my favorite places on earth!! It is a great place to get exercise, especially for kids, walk along an unusual beach covered with massive driftwood. You can fly kites, have a lunch, bring you dog for a great walk, our just spend hours imagining how soldiers in WWI served. It has stunningly beautiful views. There is also a lighthouse and a ferry to Port Townsend right there
