Beautiful spot but you will need a car to get around. Avis/Budget nearby. I recommend away from lake if you don’t like bugs at night. Bathroom facilities are also individual lockable rooms at the front of the park. Around the lake the bathroom facilities is one big room with just a shower curtain for the showers and main door is accessible to anyone. No code required. Would be great if US sites had WhatsApp numbers for overseas customers.

Enjoyed our stay at the park... It was very quiet & peaceful and we enjoyed fishing & walking on the boardwalk. The staff was very friendly & answered all of our questions. Facilities were clean - top notch! Don't miss going to the Cafe Du monde in Mandeville & get some fresh made biegnets right down the road!

We stayed at the park for about two weeks in August. We really enjoyed our stay here, the park is nice, quiet, well kept, clean and on the Tchefuncte river in a great location with a friendly staff and more than accommodating park manager. Its nice for walks in the evenings, and there is some historical merit to this park worth looking into. There is ample space between camp spots, there is a play ground, the restrooms/showers are fine, they are dog friendly and every spot that I saw had a picnic table and probably about a third of the sites had a fixed grill on site. There is also a boat ramp and dock for short term use.. Plan on sites having electric and water.

We were looking for something close by to do with our pup so we came to Fairview Riverside State Park. We walked the short trail which was very nice. Definitely recommend!

This park would get 5 stars if they keep up better with the sewer sites. We booked a camp site that has sewer dump to make our leaving morning easier. But the sewer was full, so we had to go to the park dump station. The roads in the park are very narrow and have no place safely to disconnect the toll vehicle. The view is great, not too far from the freeway and only a short drive to a Cafe Du Monde. I didn't get to check out their showers, but the building look nice from the outside.
