Great campground! I've been going since I was a baby. Only complaint is Rangers and camp store employees aren't as friendly as they used to be. Barley get any waves from the rangers riding around and the store employee barely spoke and didn't greet us at all.

We stayed from Thursday night to Sunday morning on a tent site (no power hookup). Thursday night was almost spooky how quiet it was, there were only 2 other occupied sites on our loop. Friday evening all the families started to arrive and dusk sounded like a school at recess- filled with gleeful screams and running. I give the vibe 5 out of 5, the place is serene on weekdays and fun on weekends. Firewood was very cheap at the camp store. The showers had good flow and there was a little lip separating the shower half from the dressing half to keep your feet drier. The woods around the loops look like they came straight out of a fairytale, with tulip poplars reaching for the sky and fine little greens blanketing the forest floor. There are so many great things to say about Elk Neck, but you're better served by seeing it yourself.

The campground was clean and well maintained. We stayed on the Elk Loop. Staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful. Absolutely beautiful location and a great value for the money spent. The whole state park is beautiful and we would have loved to spend more time there hiking and kayaking. We had the campground mostly to ourselves due to predicted bad weather, but it ended up being better than expected, and overall was a very peaceful experience. We did have a small animal visit in the night which carried our dish sponge partly down the trail before apparently deciding it was too soapy. 😄 It was very quiet though and didn't cause a disturbance. We were glad all our food was in the van or tent. 10/10 would recommend this campground and we can't wait to come back in future seasons!

Clean sites, parking can be tricky depending on your rig or two cars on certain pads. Choose your site wisely on the map prior to your arrival! Bathrooms are clean, park rangers make their rounds throughout the day. Safe place for kids to play. Haven't had any bad encounters here.

We stayed on the North East Loop. We had a pull through at site 19. It was a very clean and maintained site as well as the rest of the loop from what we saw. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. We didn't use the showers. Nearby campers were very friendly. The park staff is wonderful, friendly, enthusiastic, and quick to help. We needed our site table moved away from the fire pit and they came within 10 minutes to help move the table. The sites have a fire ring we had electric, water, and sewage but we didn't use it. 50 amp. Fence, a post and extremely heavy picnic table. We don't have kids but there was a playground close by. So it's kid friendly. We visited the store it was pretty good. They have stuff if you forgot small things or want souvenirs. Snacks. A few groceries and ice cream, candy. Fire wood. The nature center was cute but a very small lot to park in. Probably better to walk to then to park at on a busy day. Some history and artifacts but better for children. They had toys and lots of learning activities for kids. No live animals in there like some places. But it's fine. The park rangers are extremely friendly inside and it's very clean. Overall everything was great.
