About This Campsite
Dripping Springs Campground
Welcome to Dripping Springs Campground, a serene and quaint camping spot where nature provides the backdrop for a relaxing getaway. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle, this campground offers a peaceful setting perfect for campers looking to unwind and enjoy the great outdoors.
Key Features and Considerations
- Peaceful Environment: It is lauded for its tranquil and quiet atmosphere, making it an ideal location for those seeking solitude and a break from the city noise. Campers can expect a peaceful stay with opportunities for 'chillaxin'.
- Scenic Hiking: The area offers good hiking options with nice views, though some trails may require a bit of bushwhacking due to overgrowth.
- Natural Beauty with Personal Space: The sites are spaced out to ensure ample personal space, and most areas are shady, thanks to the surrounding trees and proximity to a creek.
- Wildlife and Equestrian Facilities: Dripping Springs also attracts wildlife, adding to the charm of this natural escape. An equestrian area is available with corrals found at the top, providing additional activities for horse enthusiasts.
- Essential Amenities: Though basic in facilities as there are no hookups, water availability is close to many sites. Campfires are permitted, adding to the camping experience.
- Things to Bring: Given some campsites are exposed to sunlight, bringing along tarps or sun shelters is advisable.
- Potential Issues: Campers should be aware of occasional maintenance issues, such as sites being closed or littered with debris, and report any concerns to the administration promptly.
Overall Thoughts
Dripping Springs Campground is a hidden gem for those wanting a traditional camping experience. While it offers some basic amenities, its strength lies in its natural surroundings and the calm atmosphere it provides. It's a great choice for those self-sufficient in their camping setup. However, prospective campers should remain vigilant about site conditions and contact management when necessary to ensure a smooth stay.

My wife and I love this place. Not fancy but quiet and peaceful. Sites are far apart enough for nice personal space. No hook ups but we are fully self contained. Nice hiking. Nice views. Been coming here since I was a kid. Our go to for some serious chillaxin!!

Without knowing what to expect we went ahead and booked a campsite for 2 nights at campsite 26 Great little campsite, this site is exposed to almost full sun, so bring an easy up or extra tarp. Campfires were allowed, major plus! Plenty of wildlife and hiking very close. Other campers were very friendly. Will definitely be booking again

Had a reservation to stay June 1st, showed up and our site was taped off, full of downed tree limbs, and marked as closed. The site has been that way for a month and people are reserving it and then showing up to no site to camp at. Tons of downed tree limbs cut and piled up all over many sites and looks like it's been that way for a while now. The sites are already small, so add in tree limbs everywhere and there's even less space to camp. We had to scramble because the camp host was "not able to find any other open sites" (we paid for a reservation online). Camp host was unhelpful and couldn't be bothered. We showed up at 1pm to see a 'gone golfing' sign in the camp host's RV... had to sit around and wait and then we were told we didn't have a site to camp at.

Cool campground, the wilderness trail / loop after 5 miles needs some attention, it is heavily overgrown. Did the full loop (8 hours), though did a lot of bushwacking

A bit of sleeper in regards to good decent camping. Water is available close to every spot. Drives through sites mostly shaded by the creek. Equestrian is up top with corrals.
