It was one of the best camping trips we had. The camp grounds were average. Lots of nut trees, so be prepared for them falling on your camper, truck.. it didn't bother us much. Great place for kids. Very family oriented. Wonderful 2.5 walking trail around the lake. Dog loved it. Everyone is very friendly. There are plenty of amenities to keep you coming back. We went in early October, and they were doing Halloween every weekend that month, so we got to pass out candy to trick or treaters. It was a nice ending to our camping trip. Will return again next year.

First, I gave three stars for location because it was easy to get to and a good central location for us to stop for the night. The campsite itself was incredibly disappointing! The roads are horribly maintained. It was raining and there were mud pits and huge pools of water and mud across all the roads and into the sites themselves. Our dogs were caked just from walking them for about fifteen minutes. On the way back from walking our dogs we noticed trash abandoned in empty sites, strewn in fire pits and on the side of the paths along the campsites. Additionally, someone had apparently driven over the black tank receptacle at our site and damaged the cap so it wouldn’t come off. We notified the site because they close at 5pm, and we arrived at about 630, heard nothing back and had to make do with that. Just one more annoyance. For a KOA site I’d expect much more. We stayed at 9 different locations from Ohio to MN on this trip and this was by far the worst.

We just finished our 9 night stay here. The location was perfect for us, as it is very close to our daughter’s house. The staff was very friendly, as were the other campers. Even with lots of activities on the weekends it never felt too busy or loud. There are two reasons I can only give 3 stars, though. The first is our site was VERY small. We have a 42 foot 5th wheel. The site was listed as good for up to 50 feet, but we could not fit our truck on the site. It was also very narrow which made it hard to enjoy sitting under our awning. The other issue is not something the park has total control over, but something they need to consider trying to rectify. When we first arrived it had been pretty dry for a while and the roads were really dusty. Then it rained most of the week and the mud was insane! There was puddling everywhere and you could not take a walk without getting completely covered. My dogs could not be outside much at all. I know the park can’t control the weather, but they need to do something about the condition of the roads. That alone will prevent us from coming back, which is sad, because the rest of the visit was fine.

The staff were fantastic and addressed any questions we had. The grounds were well kept and clean. It was quiet throughout the week, weekends had activities for the whole family. We had our 4 small dogs with us who enjoyed the dog park. I would definitely recommend this camp ground and look forward to our next stay!

We have been going for the last 10 yrs and we always have so much fun. The staff is great,helpful and nice. I now bring my grandsons and they love it. Great activities for the kids. Water slide and an obstacle course, in the lake. They also have the best ice cream and it’s very affordable. It was under $20 for 5 ice creams. I could go on and on with all the fun things and activities to do but I suggest you go and find out for yourself 10/10 😊
