Beautiful campground off Highway 115 across from Fort Carson at the bottom of Cheyenne Mountain (in front of NORAD). The campground was well kept and everything appeared to be newer. The park offers hiking and easy access to Colorado Springs and its attractions. Our site was a level concrete pad with an added bonus of a shared grilling and picnic area. While at the park we saw numerous prairie dogs, mule deer, turkeys, and prairie rattlesnakes. We would definitely come back again.

What a cool little state park! This park is VERY exposed with little shade, so bring sunscreen!!!! Lots of trails for exploring. I'd suggest this park during cooler weather. Just like all Colorado State Parks, any camping is by reservation only, so please prepare ahead of time. Even though this is the closest State Park to us, I'd go to Mueller first.

This campground is great. The sites are big and not too close to each other. The location is perfect for day trips. The view is wonderful. We woke up to see the sunrise with two dear just outside our window! Accessibility is really well thought out and made camping easy for my husband who happens to use a manual wheelchair.

This state park is definitely one of our favorite parks in Colorado! The trails are very well kept, and the rangers are some of the most knowledgeable and passionate ones we've encountered. They are truly doing their best to protect and preserve the park! There is camping for RVs and tents, and many trails to choose from. I believe there is also a backpacking trail, but don't quote me on that. There is another entrance to "the archery range," and it looks like a skills course, but that's about it. Please note that all dogs need to be leashed. There are also dog-designated trails. We actually saw two girls letting their dog poo in the grass at a non-dog trail, and the dog was off-leashed. AND she didn't even pick up after the dog!! There are signs EVERYWHERE so there is absolutely no excuse to not respect wildlife and other park visitors with this behavior. You are encouraged to report this to the rangers if seen.

This is a beautiful park, we will be returning because we did not have enough time to really explore this park! They have so many trails and the paths were amazing. We saw turkeys, deer and prairie dogs!! If you are camping with family or friends, they have the cutest common areas for you to gather together at your site.
