We enjoyed our four night stay. Sites were large, clean, and paved. Some sites had full hookups. Any size RV or tent site is available. Bath facilities were numerous and modern. Trees were plentiful,, but Star Link worked. Paved hiking and bike trails, an amphitheater for programs, wildlife and bird viewing area, marina, and dog park - no complaints here. It is very close to Aurora to get anything you might need or want. Would recommend this popular campground. NOTE: Cottonwood Grove camp host needs to tidy up his site. It is a real eyesore.

A pleasant respite from urban Denver with lush foliage and a wonderfully large reservoir - but local road noise is still apparent for those seeking a true wilderness experience…but overall well worth the trade off! Clean and pleasant campground well maintained by a caring corp of campground hosts. RV sites with full hookups can be obtained via reservation and some loops have large mature trees for shade such as the Cottonwood Grove loop. The Gold Rush loop tends to be more of an open prairie environment with few larger shade trees. The marina will take you to the tropics with a sandy area and a beachside bar…while still in the Rockies. Currently you can’t get from west side to the east side of the park (or vice versa) due to road work being done but a quick hop on the Dam Road will take you there - but you have to leave the park so take your pass with you. Overall - wonderful and 100% Colorado.

Sites are very large and kept neatly by a large friendly staff. You can hear the highway noises from the campground but they aren't overwhelming, nor can you see the traffic. I consider that as a reasonable tradeoff for such easy access to the major roadways. We are from out of state and had to purchase day use passes for each day we stayed @ $11/day to cover the rig (if pulling a toad, you are given a pass for that vehicle as part of the fee) in addition to the camping fee, so consider that when you budget. It was a no-brainer for us getting a full h/u site near down-town. In the gold rush loop, wifi had a strong, stable signal and good data-rate.
