I loved hiking here. There's a ton of trails and a nice visitor center. We did the river side trail. There's tables through out to sit down and eat or rest. I would definitely bring a friend and be ready to walk a LOT. I believe the trail we took was a little over 4 miles in one direction so about 9 miles total.

You need to pay for parking at the visitor center (it was $5) and then you can choose which hike you would like to go on. We went on the one along the river which was nice and shaded. To get there, you need to get back on the road that you got off of to get to the visitor center, and keep driving all the way to the end where there's a big parking lot, a nice playground for the kids, and tables to possibly enjoy a picnic at. There are also restrooms there on the left, right before you get to the parking lot. The kids also enjoyed the wooden tower you get to if you take the river trail. You can also camp at this park, but we just went for the hike. The staff at the visitor center are friendly and helpful and can give you a map of the park.

Very nice and very clean park. It is in the middle of nowhere so cell service and Internet is very limited if that is something you need. They have several nature bike trails and walking trails. They also have a paved bike/walking trail that is ADA accessible but be aware that the first mile is ADA and the last half there is a Very steep hill to decend but there is a sign on path that lets you know. The park has two campgrounds inside for RV and tents with full hookups. They also have platform camping, primitive camping and hike in camping as well as cottages for rent. It also has a boat ramp and a day use area by the boat ramp with picnic tables and a pavilion and playground. There is a playground in each camp area. There bathrooms in each section and they are very clean with great water pressure. The handicap showers are large and have shower bar and seating. They also have washers and dryers for use. It's a very quiet place to relax, ride bikes and walk. Ladies at the visitor center are very nice and helpful. Dears visited every morning and evening at our site 112, which was private and large. Will definitely be back.

We did camping here Campsite-2 in August End. The campsite area is quite big and you find logs and woods around the camp and the toilet is very close to the campsites. We saw few deers and owl. The visitor center is good and Tony was helpful and knowledgeable. You must visit the visitor center to ask anything about the camp site or the state park. Few helpful informations: you can buy Ice Bags from Visitor Center. Closest Walmart is 40mins drive from here. Closest Kroger/gas station is 10miles from here.
