Went here because shockingly it was raining the morning of April 1. No April fools. Most city museums are closed on Mondays so this was the only thing we found. We were surprised at how much we liked it. Very interesting history and something you never think about: what happens to an international border when a river changes course? They presented the information in such a good way that it kept the attention of my 10 and 8 year old boys. Additionally, they actually have great Tshirts in the gift shop that are very comfy if you’re like me and buy shirts at every NPS site. 😀

This National Park Service site was better than I imagined. You learn about what led to the modern-day boundary between El Paso and Jaurez. I especially appreciated the front page newspapers from the time period. They were a blast from the past! And they really highlighted the heart-rending controversy over the border dispute. I was surprised and impressed by the forthrightness of the exhibit. My only question that wasn't answered by the exhibit was what ultimately happened to the displaced peoples? The NPS staff person at the site was informative and kind. A big shout out to Julie. You rock! The site closes at 5pm, the grounds close at 7pm.

Love this park. So peaceful in the center of chaos by the bridge, but you dont notice it much while enjoying a nice walk on the trails. The museum is nice and clean and there are a lot of squirrels and owls who don't bother you. Remember it is their home enjoy and relax there in one of the nice picnic areas.
