very beautiful park! you really can’t tell that this place is anywhere near the dfw area! it’s lush, peaceful, and a great escape from the city! the trails are very well maintained and there’s plenty to choose from. there’s easy ones and harder ones so you can choose whichever difficulty you want! it’s a very popular park and you’re never really alone on the trails and everyone you pass is so friendly! they have such a cute little pond and an awesome lake for fishing or boating! the facilities are also up to date and very nice!

Absolutely beautiful place ! Each campsite is clean & well maintained . Our site was in Coyote Crossing overlooking the water. We hiked the trails & had an amazing peaceful visit , just what we needed . We will probably wait until it's much colder to return only because the weather was so great that all of nature came out to enjoy it. During our short stay we saw a scorpion, a snake & a tarantula .also they have invasive ants that were a bit annoying despite all our effects they got into some of the food . Which is another sign of how well the park is cared for, everything was living happily , I'm always more concerned when I don't see wildlife.

Considering how large this state park is and how close/convenient it is to DFW, it's an asset to the area. There are lots of different trails to choose from, and many are bike friendly. I saw a lot of families picnicking on the lake. I only dock a point because it's really too crowded/popular for my taste. It's great for families and a short day trip, but not for solitude unless you visit in off-season, during the week. I'd imagine it's quieter then.

Nearest state park from Dallas. Went on Labor Day evening due to rain trail was closed but close to lake less crowded we spend good time here . Restrooms were clean, had ample parking . There is some camping ground too. Overall great place to be at.

Gorgeous state park. Excellent lay out of campsites. Many campsites are right on the water, very secluded and great for fishing. The boat ramp is also nice and very convenient. A wonderful place to spend the weekend.
