We have a huge family camp out here every year. It's beautiful and it's very clean. They offer showers (you have to buy tokens), the bathrooms are clean, and there a lot of fun shops near by (the candy shop was my favorite). You do have to book early as sites go fast in summer.

We stayed one night at site with RV water and power. Volts and water pressure was good. The sites was tight but hey! You’re on the beach! Could have been a tidier camp ground. This is what gives it 4 stars and I would stay there again. No dogs on the beach.

The location is really nice, facility at the campsite is old but it works perfectly and water is really hot. The HUGE shame of this amazing location is the extremely high amount of far you get at the beach, you can’t save your feet unless you walk with shoes or flip flop. Water is dirty as well. Just go to the beach and witness this by yourself. A nice present from the people who installed the oil base stations a couple of miles away on the sea. As usual, money is more important than nature and the health of people.

Lovely small campsites, get a bit crowded but folks are nice. If you are lucky to get an ocean-facing site, the smaller ones in the middle have limited space-ok for a medium tent. You’re not allowed to pitch on the dunes. Carpinteria has two sites where you can set up tents. Santa Cruz is the one to get and try to get the ocean facing premium sites. Some sites are in between two larger ones so they don’t have much room for large tents, but a medium tent will fit nicely, and you get your own private beach viewing spot. Both here and other CA state beaches, dogs are not allowed. There is a nice long wooden walkway from the seal to the beginning of the camping area. Restrooms and showers are separate. Retail stores are a 3min drive or 12min walk. Carpinteria is a cute town nice to walk around. You can see the oil rigs in the distance but it’s not bothersome.

Nice big clean beach. The waves were quite large which made it hard to swim. It was difficult to find parking on the day we were day as it was a week end and the temperature was very high. We didn't see any rubbish bins on the beach, there was one in a car park close by. The day we were there our feet and flip flops got destroyed by tar I'm not sure if this is a regular thing.
