One of the best possible places to have a relaxing family beach vacation. We get two cabins and stay in one with grandparents and the other. Kids run back and forth and have a little freedom and a great time. The beach is beautiful and well maintained. There is some seagrass that washes up, but it's really not a problem. The water is fairly shallow out from the shore, even during high tide, so it's really nice for little kids because they can play a bit more in the water without being too worried. The guy who rents kayaks and other stuff at the beach was really nice and knowledgeable about the area. The front desk could not have been more helpful. When the grandparents had difficulty with the air conditioning in their cabin, the staff showed up very quickly and fixed it. My only criticism is that their cabin smelled like very strong disinfectant for the entire time. That's probably a good thing, meaning that prior guest did something that required extra cleaning and they did the extra cleaning. But it was still a pretty strong and irritating odor. The restaurant on the beach was good and the service was excellent and friendly. I am so glad we discovered this place. We will be back next year!

I have nothing but good things to say! My HUSBAND and I stayed here for a week with our entire family this September for our wedding in Cape Charles. It was genuinely the best week of our lives. The cottages were clean and spacious. The pool was open but you couldn’t get my HUSBAND to leave the beach that’s right on site! Truly so relaxing. What genuinely tops the entire experience was the staffing. Candy at check-in helped all of our guests get in quickly and with so much kindness. Robin checked in on us many times over our stay and even helped us reserve a space by the restaurant for a family bbq. She went out of her way to set everything up perfectly for us.. It was great knowing she cared to make our experience truly memorable. Dan! He was the icing on the cake. He was so nice to everyone when we’d get our coffee in the morning. He said he always wants every guest to feel like this is their home and he made that happen for all of us. Thank you KOA for being a part of the most amazing week of our lives. We’ll be back very soon!

It’s not only the campground location itself that is part of the experience, it’s the other walks of life there at the same time. This trip ruthless neighbors with no respect on how extremely loud their radio is, they really just do not care. Music is fine play it at a level where each site can cancel it out. Way too many young adults driving golf carts with trash music(foul language). The foul language on the youngsters is pretty rough if you are trying to enjoy the experience with younger family. That just gives you an idea on the adult crowd, the apple does not fall far from the tree. People burning garbage in the fire pits. The staff is nice, I feel they need to hammer down on rules a little more.

The staff here is very nice and helpful. The skip jack site was perfect for us. Beach is perfect and pool is fine. My kids loved both. My only complaint is there doesn’t seem to be security anywhere. Golf carts and vehicles for that matter are moving quick. My daughter was almost hit by a golf cart while on her bike. The driver appeared intoxicated and just didn’t care. I wouldn’t not return here, but wish they’d enforce the rules and policies a little more. Also, bike racks by the beach and pool would be nice.

Another year (2024) in the books for Cape Charles KOA. We had a great time as always but it wasn’t without issue. We had 8 campers in our group and every single spot had foot high grass. we were site 423. We have been coming here for years as a group and this was the worst year for flies and biting insects. We went through more bug spray than sunscreen. In years past the sites were mowed/trimmed prior to checking in and the bugs/flies were not bad. I should have brought my own weed eater. Correlation or causation I can’t say but the fact remains that foot tall grass under a picnic table is not satisfactory. Please do better for what we pay for these sites. The camp staff were very friendly and professional as always. I could have and probably should have said something at check in but after being on the road for 6 hours didn’t want to delay setting up…
