I hate this camp they give u no communication to your parents there are gay counselors at a “ Christian camp “. They antagonize kids and treat them like babies The place is dirty and need health inspector to shut them down .They take kids pictures without their permission which is crime because nobody signed a contract. They hold me against my will . Only let us talk to our parents Tuesday and Thursday. Which is not ok because what if we have a thing that goes wrong that we can only talk with to our parents about because we feel comfortable with them if we don’t. Feel comfortable wit strangers why have that camp . If yall teach us stranger danger why send us there . and we only can talk to them 2 hrs on a Tuesday or a Thursday .

My son had a wonderful experience, he camped July 3-7, 2023. He said Sam and NJ(Nate) was very nice to him and other campers in cabin 3. He learnt a lot from chapel, from bibles to Christian songs. Thank you Camp Hope Haven and all sponsors of the program. God bless you and see you next year by God’s grace.

I went to Camp Hope Haven as a child in the 1980s. My family didn’t have a lot of money so it was truly a blessing for my siblings and I to get to have the experience to go to sleep away camp and the activities were so wholesome. I’m so glad to see that Hope Haven is still in operation.

I spent many summers here; I started going when I was about 9 or 10 and continued all the way until I was 15. While I never ended up being a counselor like I wanted to be, I did have plenty of fun in the years I spent there. The activities were always super fun and I always left wishing that we could stay more than the 5 days. To be honest, I would rate 5 stars if not for the fact that the last time I came, one of the counselors left an extremely bad taste in my mouth. Over the years, my belief in God has always had its ups and downs, however, this counselor almost made my belief plummet completely. As I have forgotten her name, I will refer to her as "A" to make it easier. The situation was that a fellow camper of mine had asked for help with a problem; at home, there was a classmate who had been harassing and borderline stalking her. "A" got mad at her, saying something to the effect that God actually wanted for this 13 year old girl to be harassed and that it was sinful to even try to fix it. My faith, for personal reasons, had already been hanging by a thread and "A", while not directing her statement at me, practically had scissors ready to snip at my last bit of hope. However, thankfully, another counselor, who I will call "B" as I forgot her name too, had also weighed in; this one responded beautifully, giving the camper advice that would genuinely solve the problem, tying it up with a quote and a statement about how God loves her and that through Him, she can overcome her situation. I honestly believe that the response that "B" gave is what helped me hold on and not lose all faith. I would absolutely love to give Camp Hope Haven five stars, however, the memory of the one counselor's treatment of a camper is sadly one that will not go away anytime soon. However, this is very uncharacteristic of Camp Hope Haven counselors. Out of the five or so years I was in attendance, all of the other counselors I had seen had treated the campers wonderfully. Please do not mistake this outlier as the norm; the vast majority of counselors are wonderful people who bring girls closer to God.

This camp is a blessing & I pray it continues for many years to come. My twins 2nd year here & it’s so much fun and they meet so many friends. The counselors are amazing. Thank you!!!
