If you're looking for a peaceful and affordable place to stay close to New Orleans, Bayou Barataria RV Park is an excellent choice. My wife and I stayed there for just over 13 weeks while she worked as a travel nurse at a Children’s Hospital in the Metairie area, and we absolutely loved it. The park is well-maintained, with paved roads, full hookups, and a clean and well-kept laundry room with separate men and women's bathrooms and showers. One of the best things about the park is its manager, Shawn, who is always available and very attentive to his guests' needs. He and his wife, LeAnn, do an excellent job of keeping the park clean and decorated for every occasion. The park is also very secure, with a key-pad bathhouse and security cameras around the property. In terms of location, the park is just a few minutes' drive from town no matter which direction you go. Our 13-year-old son loved it there as well. There are plenty of things to do in the area, from helicopter tours, haunted ghost tours, swamp tours, cruising the Mississippi River in the Creole Queen listening to live jazz, concerts, parades galore, fishing along the channels to biking and we even built a swing on the big old oak tree just west of the RV park for other kids to explore. Overall, Bayou Barataria RV Park is an excellent place to stay for an extended period. It's quiet, clean, affordable, and conveniently located near New Orleans. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable stay in Louisiana. Oh and just a heads up keep an eye out for the parks mascot Jerry the armadillo (the neighborhood kids named him) he moves slow across the road at times and you wouldn’t want to accidentally run into the little feller.

Been here for almost a month and we’ve had nothing but great experiences! Management is professional and attentive! Its equipped with showers and a laundry room. No issues with mail and packages either, which is always a huge plus on our end since we’re always ordering from amazon! Overall great rv park and near the cities!

A great, safe spot at a very affordable rate. Not too far from the French Quarter. Their full hook-up spots are perfectly level, clean, and spacious with well-maintained landscaping. The manager Shawn was extremely accommodating and helpful when we arrived. He went above and beyond to make sure we were set up with everything we needed. We were even having an issue with our camper’s electric plug that he took a look at for us. Bathrooms/shower houses were very clean and nice. They also have laundry facilities which is a great bonus. The surrounding area is quiet, which is nice because you’re close enough to the popular areas without all the hustle and bustle of being in a downtown area. Can’t recommend this place enough.

We are snowbirds from Maine, bumping along the Gulf Coast and Bayou Barataria RV Park was an excellent find!!! We called at the last minute for a Friday/Saturday reservation (which is always tricky). Scott was able to find us a spot and hooked us up with the on-site manager Shawn who met us at the campground. Such pleasant people to deal with!!! Our pull-through site was perfect. The bathhouse was immaculate (and pretty!) and the laundry facilities were economical and so convenient. The campground was ideally located for visiting the WWII museum in New Orleans as well as our planned trip down Route 23 to the end of the road at Venice, which was another great experience, watching the tankers on the Mississippi River (we are from Maine!). Another wow was the seafood gumbo at the Black Velvet Oyster Bar and Grill in Buras. Our time in this area of Louisiana was THE BEST. We stumbled upon treasures... without a doubt! Thank you, Louisiana!!!

I stayed here for two months in the spring of 2023 and have nothing but good things to say. I booked this place last minute (a day before arriving) and they were still able to accommodate me. The manager Shawn and his family take very good care of the property and the bath house is cleaned multiple times a day. They are also very easy to contact and quick to reply. I travel for work as a dredge surveyor and definitely felt safe here as a lone female; the park has big street lights along all the roads and other campers were very friendly and helpful. Lots of kids and families around. The coin laundry in the bath house was super convenient and the dryers actually work!
