We enjoyed our 2 days at Basswood. We were able to schedule this stay at the last minute and the scheduling staff was very helpful in assisting our timing needs. Our site was very clean. Some sites are very tight at the campground but ours was sufficient. Their general store is resourceful, too, although, their gin is too high priced. :-) Kudos to the friendly staff, Laura and Lisa.

My husband and I needed a weekend of solitude, away from people to just chill. The mother-in-law cottage was perfect for us. It was away from people, we had access to the lake to fish, people watch and just chill. It was a nice weekend. The cabin is well appointed, the needed dishes were there. It was nice having the linens included.

This campground has several full time residents and several of their lots look like a Sampson & Son location. These full timers have no respect for posted speed limits and no one enforces the park rules. The very large shirtless guy in his purple SUV was going way to fast. (management you will know who this is by that description) We bought firewood from the store that just would not burn. We complained at the office the next day and they suggested lighter fluid. The wood still did not burn for more than two minutes. When we asked management for a refund they said that the wood must have got wet at our site but no refund was offered. Having said all of this, once you get past the full timers, the transient lots are an ok size, easy in and easy out. They also make a wicked pizza & wings on Friday and Saturday and deliver right to your site. Management does nothing to manage, rules are broken, their fire wood may as well be concrete as it would not burn either. I’ll never stay there again. Pictures include wood left behind, it started as 20 pieces.

Where to even start! This was our first time to Basswood & it won’t be our last! The staff was so helpful and friendly. When we originally booked we accidentally messed up our reservation. When we called to fix it the staff was so friendly and accommodating on our adjustment. This continued with our visit. The whole staff was great but the GM Brian was exceptional! Seriously such a fun/nice guy and always present! The campground was well maintained and each lot had it own fire ring, a picnic table and plenty of room for vehicles and golf carts. The store on the property had fish food & bait among MANY other things! Including ice! The list of activities kept us entertained but our favorite by far was the water gun shoot out! The bath house’s & laundry facilities were also very clean & well maintained. If it was possible to give more than 5 stars we would! Can’t wait to come back!

A beautiful, clean, quiet place to camp and stay. Our family had a great stay here. We enjoyed the fishing ponds, trail and all the fun an amenities for the kids. The only negative was the size and quality of our “deluxe site”. Yes we had a concrete pad, but it was so small, all rocks and weeds and all we could smell was our neighbours sewer. If we came back again we would do more research for a better site. The grounds, staff and amenities we well worth it though.
